Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course
About
Eight years before he built Colonial Country Club, John Bredemus came to Fort Worth to build Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course. The city bought the facility years later and brought Ralph Plummer in for renovations in 1962, when the creation of dams formed five new lakes and improved the irrigation system. No. 5 should probably be a par 5 for most hackers -- it plays 475 yards with water on the left of the dogleg, trees are on the right, and the approach must carry a creek. Don't worry about a bogey on this one. The 16th is another long par 4 that features an approach over water to the green. The two best birdie opportunities are nos. 7 and 14, both short par 4s that should leave you with only a short iron into the green.

Great course
Course is in great condition. Some bunkers not playable but with all the rain its that way at every course. This course gives you the right amount of tough holes to holes you should do good on. I recomend it.
In great shaoe
Old school charm. Challenging fairways with 100 yr old oaks.
Timberlinks
Decent greens and fairways. Tight track so must be able to put ball in play off tee. Good for a quick 9 when you got other sheet to do.
Meadowbrook Golf Course
This course was very challenging on most of the holes. I loved it. Good condition. I'm looking forward to going back.
Course has good drainage
I played the course two days after a month of rain and flooding, I was expecting cart path only and it was 90 degree rule which was cool. There was very little standing water but the fairways where soft greens where soft and slow. The staff was very friendly and food was great. Overall I was very pleased considering the conditions
Bad Greens
Fairways werent bad if thats a factor to you. I just like to play course with solid greens. this course was far from that. i would rather fork over an extra 20 and play somewhere that has greens that roll and dont bump
Hidden jewel
Deep in the hills of west Ft. Worth lies Meadowbrook, a rare gem of a course. With tight fairways and plenty of mature trees, Meadowbrook is an exciting challenge and a great value. This wasn't the first time, and every time I've played, the staff was friendly, the pace pf play excellent, and the course was in great shape.
Old But Good
First time playing Meadowbrook, I have heard it was a nice challenging golf course, it lived up to its reputation. We will definitely be back, great value for the money, (Friday 9:30 tee time for $25).
Meadowbrook is very good golf course.
Meadowbrook has 18 holes of fabulous golf course.
Each hole of this magnificent layout has five tee locations ready to accommodate any level of player.
Each hole has five sets of tees, sculpted fairways, strategically placed sand bunkers and water hazards, and is accentuated by beautiful native grasses.
Solid course
A good course, well maintained, greens in good condition. Pace of play was good even though course was fairly busy. I think anyone would consider this a good muni course
A once great course!
This use to be one of the best Fort Worth city owned golf courses. I guess budget cuts for the city have effected the courses ability to maintain it's maintenance. The tree lined course was covered in tree limbs that had fallen from storms, areas that needed to be mowed. Basically an over all cleaning to bring this course back up to standards. I would rather spend my money somewhere else even though the value was great.
Great course
Fun but challenging course, water hazards and uphill and downhill shot .
good green condition
Good green conditions, tough pin placement, fairways were hard and dry, easy par 3's, two drivable par 4's.
Historical course with some flavor
Considering the course was established in the 1920's, you should not be expecting a state-of-the-art golf course. That said, this course offers players of all abilities a challenge. I've played here many times and each time I find new ways to play holes. Fairways and greens are in great shape for a municipal course that gets ALOT of play. Only negative I can provide are the slopes/bounces the fairways can give that will make a good shot turn into a nightmare -- or a lost ball altogether. Hole #1 is a prime example...a shot that lands in the middle of the fairway could run off into the trees/water on the left OR the cart path/rocks/trees on the right. If you've never played Meadowbrook before, play it safe...take risks after you know the layout and safe places to play.
Favorite holes: #4 (par 5 reachable in 2, should be a birdie) and #11 (par 3 that plays over water)
Hardest holes: #5 (par 4 that plays like a par 5, don't let the elevated tee shot fool you...this hole can ruin your round, quickly!) and #8 (short hole with an uphill 2nd shot...don't leave it short and be careful on the green!!)
Excellent public course
Great course for the money. Staff is friendly and helpful. The course is very popular, pace can be slow. I'll come back again and again.
Great city course
This is easily one of the best municipal courses around, well taken care of, fairways and greens in great shape, nice elevation changes, a fun course to play
Nice Course
Haven't played this course for 20 years. I still like it. It a challenging course and in good shape. Got a great price on Golfnow.com with a reasonable Tee time. Got there earlier than expected and was immediately placed in line and teed off within 15 minutes. It did take 5 hrs to play 18 holes but it was fathers day. Didn't seem that crowded but we had a 5some 3 groups ahead of us.
Meadowbrook golf course
The greens were sanded and not aerated which made it difficult to putt, overall the course was in good shape.
Top 5 Muni in DFW
This is a great course. Finished in around 4 hours, and that includes waiting for the group in front of us and a quick break at the turn. Course is in great shape, and the elevation changes and overall design make it a challenge.
Course in Very Good Shape
The course was in great shape the staff was excellent,it took over 4 1/2 hrs because we played on Sat.and was noon when we went to #1 tee but we expected it to be that way when we booked tee time.Well worth the money we had great time and so did the wife she enjoyed playing there was her 1st time there
