Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course
About
Eight years before he built Colonial Country Club, John Bredemus came to Fort Worth to build Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course. The city bought the facility years later and brought Ralph Plummer in for renovations in 1962, when the creation of dams formed five new lakes and improved the irrigation system. No. 5 should probably be a par 5 for most hackers -- it plays 475 yards with water on the left of the dogleg, trees are on the right, and the approach must carry a creek. Don't worry about a bogey on this one. The 16th is another long par 4 that features an approach over water to the green. The two best birdie opportunities are nos. 7 and 14, both short par 4s that should leave you with only a short iron into the green.

Good Layout.
Tough to walk but overall it offers some good challenges. Course is short but have enough long par 4 and par 3 to make it interesting.
Not great
I live in Vegas and was in town for work. Never playing here or where I played yesterday, I went off of ratings online. Not sure if I’m spoiled with Vegas courses but if I see something that’s a 4.3 and a 4.1 respectively, I assume it’s gonna be good. This course was a 2.5 at best. Greens were decent rest of the course was terrible. Pace of play was even worse. If I didn’t get it for so cheap (but not really after I got charged for the cart on arrival) it would have gotten a 1. I would not recommend this course to anyone that knows how to play.
Great course
first time playing it, but course was in excellent condition definitely coming back must play
Course was in perfect shape. Soft fairways and true rolling greens. Second time on the course and both times have been great. I will be back.
Great for the $$
We walked. Last week I only made 9 holes walking. This week, I made 14. Ladies tee boxes need some watering... I could barely get my tee in some of them . Greens are hard. Lots of water so challenging for a novice. However, I had a blast and will go back. Walking is tough, but we keep doing it because of the price. Very friendly staff, and especially Covid 19 safe. They check our temps, require masks in the shop, and only can:’/ bottled drinks, no draft. Card only, no cash.
A good day
The course was in fair shape. Tees were hard and fairways were ok. However, the greens were pretty good and smooth. I had a good day on the course and enjoyed it. Has quite a few elevation changes and blind shots. Used every club in my bag.
Good to get out
You get what you pay for. It is a city municipal course so it is not the greatest. The tees were hard, fairways were ok but the greens were good and smooth. It has several elevation changes and blind shots. I enjoyed the opportunity to get out and had a good fun round.
Good value, but tough walk
The course is in good condition, but if you plan to walk, be prepared. The hilly terrain is tough as the day heats up. The tee times are spaced a little too closely.
Great course for the price... fun course with some challenging holes.
Fun day for all!
One of Fort Worths Classics
After learning how to play on this course 30 years ago, I recently visited after 20 years. This FW classic is often overlooked, and a true value (<$35 before 4pm, <$15 after). Earlier reviews gave the greens harsh remarks, after playing the past two weeks, they have rebounded and are on good shape. Due to covid-19, and not being able to get off at my regular course, I decided to give it try. I'm happy to report I've played 4 times here in the past two weeks. You could go spend 2X the money elsewhere, but this course is an exceptional value. Onsite personnel couldn't be more friendly, and supportive. Do yourselves (and your wallet) a favor and give it a try. Just please dont tell to many of your friends, (I'm enjoying the 3 hour rounds).
