About
Eight years before he built Colonial Country Club, John Bredemus came to Fort Worth to build Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course. The city bought the facility years later and brought Ralph Plummer in for renovations in 1962, when the creation of dams formed five new lakes and improved the irrigation system. No. 5 should probably be a par 5 for most hackers -- it plays 475 yards with water on the left of the dogleg, trees are on the right, and the approach must carry a creek. Don't worry about a bogey on this one. The 16th is another long par 4 that features an approach over water to the green. The two best birdie opportunities are nos. 7 and 14, both short par 4s that should leave you with only a short iron into the green.

Windy Area
About 4 or 5 holes were extremely hard for climbing uphill with my pull cart. The course has very good designed layout and greens conditions, but less maintained fairways. I was surprised with not many golfers on Sat. morning, not likely Dallas. Finished in 3 hours and 30 minutes on walking!
A foursome jumped on the #1 tee box in front of me at my tee time, a single as the other 3 didn't show up. I asked in the proshop if they were supposed to be in front of me and he stated he didn't know who they were, but that I should just follow them (no effort to assist). I went and asked them if I could go first, and they said no. 3 of the 4 hit it into the 18th, with the 4th dribbling one 10 yards off the tee. After watching them search for balls for a while, I went ahead and hit, passed them, and when I left the green, they were still not in the 1st fairway. I don't think they knew I went by them. I saw them again while I was in the 8th fairway and they were just teeing off #5, so 3 full holes were open, and I was following a group. On 10, I came to a 2 some that was incredibly slow, hitting everywhere but the target. After 2 holes, they parked on a tee box, I assumed they were waiting, though I wasn't sure how they could have caught anyone. After a few minutes and no gesture or a word, they said, "don't you want to go", like I knew they were letting me through. Very strange, and the reason courses need a marshal to manage pace.
Good muni course
For a hot deal of 11 dollars to walk, can’t beat it. Greens are in rough shape in some spots, but the rest of the course was great. Short but tough.
Strange greens
The rough is tough, very overgrown. Guess I should’ve just stayed in the fairway! Greens were not receptive to approach shots and rolled extremely slowly.

Meadowbrook
Great course with a good layout. Wish they had water coolers every other hole during the summer months especially when there isn't a beverage cart making the rounds.
Better Deals elsewhere
I was told by whoever I spoke with in the phone it would be $30 for our 2 carts but in arrival I was told $62. With the TeeOff app used which was cheap but then get ripped on the cart price took it up to $45 a person. MUCH better deals out there for the money and better courses as well. Course was in decent condition for what the weather has been. The person at the counter upon arrival was not the friendliest. I’ve played this course before and have been pleased but this might end my visits there.
Fairways and tee boxes hard as rock. Greens in horrible shape. Poor spacing between tee times. Not a fan of this course.
Slow but good value
We had a point where 3 groups of 4 we're waiting on the same tee box. I also wished they had an actual driving range to fully warm up versus an indoor shooting net for irons only. Overall though the staff was very friendly and a great value for the game! I will most likely come back again!
