Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course

About
Eight years before he built Colonial Country Club, John Bredemus came to Fort Worth to build Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course. The city bought the facility years later and brought Ralph Plummer in for renovations in 1962, when the creation of dams formed five new lakes and improved the irrigation system. No. 5 should probably be a par 5 for most hackers -- it plays 475 yards with water on the left of the dogleg, trees are on the right, and the approach must carry a creek. Don't worry about a bogey on this one. The 16th is another long par 4 that features an approach over water to the green. The two best birdie opportunities are nos. 7 and 14, both short par 4s that should leave you with only a short iron into the green.

Solid
Best in the area for weekday golf. Challenging layout. Fair pricing at the bar and grill. Polite staff. Will be back.
Hidden gem
This course is a great hidden jem. Me and a friend golfers this years ago and I've always wanted to give it another shot. The course itself is great. I couldn't complain about anything and that's rare with the winter we had. Only thing I knocked it for is if you book waking and want to rent a cart later you are gonna pay by the rider not the cart. This is the only place I've played that is that way and we spent more on the cary rental than we did the green fees but the young lady at in the clubhouse was so nice we couldn't complain. We will be back but will wait for a good price with the cart included.
If you walk. Your a warrior
I hadn’t played this course in 20 years. I walked all 18. Tough on us over 60. This is a tough course to walk. So many elevation changes. Pay the extra for the cart.
Great Layout
Okay, for all the whining about slow play...... Duh!
It’s a hard course. Elevation changes, slopes, hazards, hard angles off tee boxes. Yeah - it’s going to slow down a lot of amateur golfers.
But the track is fun and hard. Great value -
Always a good time
Windy day, but because it wasn't crowded, the pace of play was great. I thought that because of the recent rains the course wouldn't be as dry as it was, but that crazy winter blast must have killed a lot of the vegetation. Still Meadowbrook is always an enjoyable track.
Meadowbrook
Pace was very very slow and no starter so people where jumping also seen some 5 player groups and a tone of 2 player groups not paired up to keepplay faster.
No cart person and bathrooms closed still
we play meadowbrook 2 to 3 times a month
Saturday Golf
Nice course and the price is right, especially for a weekend.
Fair warning though, it does play slow and you will have to wait. About 4 1/2 hr. round.
Also, if you walk with a push cart be prepared. The course is very up and down with terrain and will be challenging to walk.
Very nice overall.
Always a fun time
Great time at Meadow Brook. Very Challenging in the winter conditions. Pin placements were tough that day; do not be high of the hole. Got done in 3 hours 15 minutes. Staff is nice. Great there is a place to play during this strange season. Thanks Meadowbrook!! We will be back
Classic course with lots of relief
A good classic course. Sloping fast greens make it a real challenge. Diversity of hole types with a ton of relief on the course. Played in winter so the lies could be pretty bare but the greens were in great shape. Look forward to playing it when it greens up. Only knock is no outdoor driving range but they have set up a couple of inside bays which is nice. If they could outfit those bays with a trackman or other simulator they would be on to something.
Great round
Hills can wear you down if you are walking. Enjoyed course.
