Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course

About
Eight years before he built Colonial Country Club, John Bredemus came to Fort Worth to build Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course. The city bought the facility years later and brought Ralph Plummer in for renovations in 1962, when the creation of dams formed five new lakes and improved the irrigation system. No. 5 should probably be a par 5 for most hackers -- it plays 475 yards with water on the left of the dogleg, trees are on the right, and the approach must carry a creek. Don't worry about a bogey on this one. The 16th is another long par 4 that features an approach over water to the green. The two best birdie opportunities are nos. 7 and 14, both short par 4s that should leave you with only a short iron into the green.

Decent value.
Course was in above average shape. Greens are fast but that’s expected as the greens are dormant this time of year.
This course desperately needs watering
Rock hard fairways, non-existent wispy rough which doesn't slow down the ball whatsoever, the greens were nearly unplayable. Several areas just a couple yards off the fairways turn into rock & dirt. The slopes on the green are extremely deceiving, a toddler could tap your downhill putt for you and it would still roll off the green 30 seconds after you hit it which leaves your putts completely at the mercy of luck. Definitely will not be back to this course, either they have no sprinkler system installed or the groundkeepers have no idea what they're doing. There are much better courses in the flowermound/grapevine area
Leaves everywhere
Course has not been maintained properly. Fairways are covered with leaves.
Also, you should find out if people are walking the course and have a larger buffer of time between tee times. Had to wait on every hole because of slow play by walkers.
Should just be private
Members run the course and whine about public players. Try to claim you hit them with a drive in a total other fairway just to try and get you removed. Course in terrible shape anyways, left after 12 holes to save our irons.
The course is above average for the time of year that it is. There were a lot of leaves in the greens that got in the way of putting.
Great Saturday afternoon
Ft. Worth's best and most neglected muni...this is a good track.
Fun Track but Avoid Weekends
Great layout and friendly staff. Greens aren't bad but fairways are rock hard. Two senior fivesomes in front made my group leave after 14 holes due to slow play. Once you add in their expensive cart fees you could play far superior courses in the area.
