Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course

About
Eight years before he built Colonial Country Club, John Bredemus came to Fort Worth to build Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course. The city bought the facility years later and brought Ralph Plummer in for renovations in 1962, when the creation of dams formed five new lakes and improved the irrigation system. No. 5 should probably be a par 5 for most hackers -- it plays 475 yards with water on the left of the dogleg, trees are on the right, and the approach must carry a creek. Don't worry about a bogey on this one. The 16th is another long par 4 that features an approach over water to the green. The two best birdie opportunities are nos. 7 and 14, both short par 4s that should leave you with only a short iron into the green.

Good local course
Good local course, challenging holes. Hard to hold the fairways without much rain.
Read the fine print.
Thought I had a good deal until I showed up and was charged an additional $16 for a cart.I hate it when that happens. The online fees should ALWAYS include the cart..
Good Test
3rd time playing this course. Windy day made it tough to get the ball to stay in the hard fairways.
Not a bad lil course
The course itself is very nice and challenging for the beginner/average golfer. Price is good, cart is a lil pricy, but reasonable. VERY short staffed. First time playing there, so I don't know if progress is in process. Golf shop has VERY little to offer. Grill has very little to offer. The refreshment cart was VERY limited on food/drinks, etc. The course itself is good, but the "amenities" need a LOT of improvement.
Greatness
Enjoyable round with challenges around the corner everytime. Love it and will play again!
PACE OF PLAY, IS THE ONLY COMPLAINT
Public course, Fun and challenging enough with the deep rough. However its just the slowest pace on earth. 2nd time here, 10min wait on every tee
Better than I expected!
I had minimal expectations about this course but wow... I really enjoyed playing here! Conditions were good on the fairways and the greens and I was shocked at how much fun it was because of the layout and pace of play! Definitely going to play it again!
Hills for days
Walking this course was a great workout, but know that the hills are intense at times. It’s a beautiful course, but a challenging layout your first time playing it as the elevation changes make it difficult to know exactly where to hit it.
Great course for the money!
Paid $42 with cart. Course is in great condition and offers somewhat of a challenge without being too hard. Course is fairly hilly so would be more difficult than usual to walk, but the hills provide for great views! Plenty of trees that provide shade if you need a quick escape from the heat.
