The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Slow play, no frills, overpriced
It started by sending me off as a single behind a bunch of foursomes. One let me play through but the other either didn't know the etiquette or flat out didn't care.
Had about 10-15 minutes to wait between holes and typically 5 minutes waiting between shots. Impossible to get a rhythm.
No marshalls to enforce any kind of pace of play.
Yardage markers were few and far between and no GPS on the carts. Bring a range finder or be prepared to guess a lot on distance.
I'd say you get what you pay for, but the price far exceeded the value. Won't be playing here again.
Overpriced and slow play
The course is overcrowded and kwerty. A lot of short Par 4's and yardage markers are few and far between. A rangefinder is a must have to play here. Lots of retired guys and Asians during the week which leads to slow play. Five hour round minimum.
6 hour rounds
The course, staff and facilities are in good shape. Only downside is the 8 min splits between tee times are causing extremely long rounds
Good availability, decent price
Greens were in excellent condition. Fairways ran out nicely for dormant season. Tee boxes need attention including just cleaning up all the broken tees. Tee box grass was sparse. Overall an enjoyable experience. We’ll play again
You can skip this one
Issues with booking through golf now. Course made a big deal about it and ended up missing my tee time cause they couldn’t get golf now to get it on the tee sheet.
I finally got out after 25 minutes of talking with the clubhouse and golf now. Course was not in good condition and the track was daily boring. Felt like playing in someone’s backyard for 18 holes. Greens have potentially but we’re very slow the day I played. Probably won’t be back given there are better courses in every direction.
Typical public course
Lots of layup shots on short par 4s, Island greens that were tough to navigate, and many trees made this public course a relatively hard course for a mid-to high handicapper. It was what I expected as far as course beauty(not any) and also in pace of play(Tee times were jammed in). Not a terrible weekend course, may be back.
