The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Good Course, Terrible Staff and Maintenance
Went to this course with some friends to celebrate my birthday. Great until hole 10 when the sprinkler system got all of our carts, bags, clothes, and valuables soaked. Staff did nothing at all until we called them multiple times and only offered us a free 9 lol. Terrible response to a situation that should not have happened to begin with. Have to purchase new head covers and a bag due to their sprinkler system going off. They did give us rain checks but honestly wont bother coming back. Terrible way of handling the situation if you ask me. Beware
Great shape, great time
I really enjoy this course. There are holes you can bomb it and ones you have to hit the right shot. The tees, fairways, and greens were all in great shape overall. Some spots were a little mushy from the rains previously but not a significant effect on the conditions.
If you get out early like I did, my threesome finished in 3:30 minutes and had no one in front or behind us. Even later on I think the course does a good job of getting groups out at a good pace to allow for smooth flowing rounds.
Overall, great round, great course, definitely be back soon, definitely recommend to others looking to play in the FRisco area.
Looking good. Playing slow.
Best course conditions in many years, maybe ever. They’ve done a fantastic job bringing it back. Greens are rolling very slow but the course looks great.
That said, they need to get some marshals on the course to speed up play. We teed off at 10am on a Friday and didn’t finish until 3:20pm. Nearly five and a half hours. Waited on every shot all day long.
Slow Play
Overall a good experience. The course marshal tried telling us we were 6 strokes behind the group in front of us when I just watched them walk off the green and we had been waiting on them most of our round because it was a group of 5. So that was laughable. The group behind us hit into us a few times but we were a group of 4 playing with a 10 year old and we were caught up with the group ahead of us on Memorial Day (a busy day) so there wasn’t anything we could do. The course was in ok shape and you get what you pay for with this course.
Never Again!
On the positive side there was sand in the bunkers, however no rakes in the traps I found my way into. Tee boxes were hard as concrete, the clubhouse has been under repair since last year with no progress. The pace of play was average and the course layout is fine but I find everything else to be below average. There are far better choices for the money in the metroplex.
Slow play, no frills, overpriced
It started by sending me off as a single behind a bunch of foursomes. One let me play through but the other either didn't know the etiquette or flat out didn't care.
Had about 10-15 minutes to wait between holes and typically 5 minutes waiting between shots. Impossible to get a rhythm.
No marshalls to enforce any kind of pace of play.
Yardage markers were few and far between and no GPS on the carts. Bring a range finder or be prepared to guess a lot on distance.
I'd say you get what you pay for, but the price far exceeded the value. Won't be playing here again.
Overpriced and slow play
The course is overcrowded and kwerty. A lot of short Par 4's and yardage markers are few and far between. A rangefinder is a must have to play here. Lots of retired guys and Asians during the week which leads to slow play. Five hour round minimum.
6 hour rounds
The course, staff and facilities are in good shape. Only downside is the 8 min splits between tee times are causing extremely long rounds
