The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Greens
Enjoyed the round but the greens were in right shape and no Ranger to facilitate play, lots of twosomes and single players.
Greens...
Played here 5-10 times, but this was not fun. Greens looked like the mower was broken, the driver was not skilled, or, they knew they were about to lose the greens. I vote for the latter, clumps of grass, big holes (not just divots) in the greens, was awful, especially on the front. Back wasn’t quite as bad, but nowhere worth the green fee, wish there would’ve been a warning before hand, especially requiring prepay.
All the negative reviews were correct.
All the negative reviews were actually correct. Course was in bad shape. Greens were bumpy and messed up.
First time in a very long time
I played this course when it first opened in the 80's. We moved away in early 90's. There were no houses around it in the 80's. I read some not very good reviews but they proved false. The course was in ok shape but could use some maintenance improvements. Initially pace of play was slow until we called the club house. (Waiting 10 minutes on tee box the first five holes) Once the marshal got things rolling we never waited on a tee box again. If the course is properly monitored by a marshal, pace of play can be controlled. Would consider playing this course again in late Spring.
Need a marshal on the course!!
The group in front of us were playing from the back tees and not hitting the ball 100 yards! At one hole it was backed up 4 groups. The greens were bumpy with the ball bouncing all over the place. Not worth the $60 weekend fee, there are better options out there.
Greens
They are charging $69 and it’s insane. It literally looked like either the guy mowing didn’t know what he was doing or their mower was broken. There would be patches and strips of uncut grass, strips of grass with clumps of uncut grass all over it, a couple holes looked like the mower was set too low and it carved out lines running through the green that had been filled with sand, etc... it was weird. Back 9 wasn’t quite as bad as the front but it was awful. Very disappointed in the communication from the course when booking..
Good layout/greens not ready
The layout is fun and unique. Rewards a long hitter but also irons off the tee arent penalized. The only issue all day was that the greens are in really bad shape due to seeding. Will be much better once in good condition.
Poor layout and poor condition
The club approach is convenient but Don’t want to recommend friends this club due to poor layout as well as very condition
Waste of Money
The range was flooded at 9:30 AM from the morning sprinklers, which screams poor management of the range. The course was no different, and charged about $70 after taxes and fees with tee boxes being closed for the tips on most holes, they had seeded the greens that morning, there were 3 groups waiting on most of the tee boxes, no martial to speed anything up, and the course itself was just in terrible condition (the kind where you can actually hurt yourself by driving the cart in the fairway because it’s so dead and bumpy). I played this course all the time growing up, and after yesterday, I will never be back again, and feel ripped off for the experience I received.
For the price it wasn’t worth it. Tee boxes were in bad shape. Greens had lots of divot marks that weren’t fixed. I wouldn’t pay $60 again. Maybe $25.
Good service ok golf course
Staff is friendly and attentive, which is a positive change from what I’ve experienced in the past. The course is ok, it is a good deal for the money and I’ve never had an issue getting a tee time here. Yes it is not in top shape but green fees are below other area courses.
Overall great course.
Teed off at 7:17 am and The greens had alot of divots that were not repaired and were a little "bumpy". Also, they had a sprinkler head bust and flood one of the fairways on the front 9. They had the courtesy of moving the tees up so the water from the sprinkler wasnt in play and a marshall came around to apologize (apparently it busted just before we teed off). Overall the course is fun to play and maintained well. They layout can be tricky but its a lit of fun.. I will be back.
No bang for your buck
Course is incredibly overpriced for what you get. Would think that with how many courses there are in the area, they would be more competitively priced. Course layout is okay, but the bunkers were trash and the greens aren’t anywhere near what you would expect for a $60+ round.
