The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Plays like a Driving Range
Horrible. The worst golf course I’ve ever paid to play on. Save your money and got hit balls at the range! You’ll get way better value and enjoyment!
Bumpy Is The Word of the Day
I have never written a negative review of The Plantation, until today. They have over-seeded the greens with rye.
So, the bermuda underneath is dead and the rye is bumpy as can be. The greens are slower than I've ever seen them. You are just as likely to make a 30 foot putt as a 3 foot putt. The pace of play was like a snail. Even though one of the marshals admitted there was a foursome that was holding up the pace of play, that foursome was not encouraged to move along or let others play through. So, we just drove around them and skipped a hole. Teed as 1:30 and did not finish the round, due to darkness and slow pace of play. I won't be back until the greens are in better shape.
A Sunday unlike any other
Several holes have water during the hole; make sure you look for the markers near the tee box that inform you about the distances to and over those hazards.
Sunset was 525 pm on this day for a round our group of 3 started at 140 pm & completed at 552 pm. Traffic did pile up at the 18th (2-3 groups in front of us), and we played the last hole in the dark.
The course does have homes and apartments bordering the holes and weaves through neighborhoods. A cart girl was present during the round as well.
Greens were in relatively good shape, & tee boxes weren't particularly hardened.
Water does surround a few greens, so be vigilant with your approaches as well as your strokes in & around the green!
Basically had yardage markers on the greens.
For $50 we definitely expected way better. The greens on the front 9 were absolute garbage. Again, for $50 for a round of golf, there’s no reason at all it should look the way it does. Some greens you couldn’t even putt on because there were 1-2 inch thick lines in the ground.
Granted, we still had fun, but that’s because of the company I was with. Unfortunately—unless they fix the course and lower the price— I won’t be coming back.
Not worth it
This used to be a little gem of a course. Now it’s just run down. The greens were awful - like they hadn’t rolled them in years. Could barely get tees in the ground because they hadn’t watered them in so long. Other area were so soggy it was like a swamp. The driving range golf balls looked like they bought refurbished cart path balls. The price was $40 for a round on a Wednesday. They should have paid me $40.
Nice Challenging Course
This was the first time I've played the course and it was a nice challenging course to play. My two friends had played it previously the course and had also enjoyed it.
I gave the course/facility the rating I did based on a couple of factors going on during this visit. The greens where being overseeded for some thinning and it was very noticeable when putting that they were very bumpy and based on which grove the ball might grab into the ball would hop and bounce around on the greens.
The other big factor was without a marshall pushing groups along, the play was extremely slow with our round taking just over 5 hours with some holes having 3 separate foursomes sitting on the tee bow waiting on a slow foursome two groups ahead. The weather was beautiful this day so this wasn't necessary a bad thing, but the play was way to slow for the course.
