Winter Conditions
Enjoy this course as it mixes a few banal holes in with a few that are quite interesting for a nice overall layout.
Winter conditions but greens are in fair to poor condition regardless. Two are still recovering from freeze issue a year ago. Tee boxes are barren hard pan. Does not look like they have been moved since October.
Guy at pro shop was grumpy but OK overall, starter was very pleasant.
All bad issues were exaggerated by the glacial pace of play. 20 minutes late teeing off and it took 5-1/2 hours for the round. Nice weather brought out a lot of golfers but no marshalls to monitor play left the course completely mismanaged. Group in front had to hunt for drives on every hole and spent a good five minutes on every green, then would sit by green doing whatever for several minutes instead of clearing out.
Knowing what this course can be will bring me back, especially since this was the first issue with the bad pace of play, but if it does not shape up by late spring, the next time will be my last.
Course condu
First few starting holes. Were cover with sand very slow pace.
Terrible experience
The course is in terrible condition starting with the tee boxes and matching concrete fairways. with equally bad greens. I understand weather is a factor and am sympathetic but at 1 o'clock there were five groups waiting on the first tee so the rest of the day we waited upwards of 15 to 20 minutes on EVERY HOLE, only because two groups ahead of us quit mid round or it would have been worse. There were no Marshalls (on a holiday) to stop people who can't hit a ball over 75 yards (literally) or swinging several times at the ball before flopping it to the front of the tee box, or waiting until the green 400 yards away is clear, or on the green on the par fives, only to come up AN ACTUAL FOOTBALL FIELD SHORT every time. After 4 hours 45 minutes and being the third group waiting on the 15th hole, we couldn't take it anymore and left with sunset coming in about 15 minutes. There are way too many courses close by in better condition and run more like a golf course than ROMPER ROOM to waste my hard earned money playing under these conditions. The cheaper price is only due to my cashing in several Golf Now Rewards, so it's not what I actually paid. To be clear, I'm all for people learning the game but that's not what's happening here. They make driving ranges for people to learn how to hit the ball in less than three swings, before they come to the course and ruin the day for serious golfers.
Didn't Honor reservation price
When we arrived we were charged 48.00 after reserving at 33.00. We didnt tee off until 30 min. After our reserved tee time. Groups were sent out back to back so that play was super slow.
Hidden gem course for the dollars.
Staff is LEGIT. Greens were kinda brutal but Tejas in December tf you expect. Pace of play was scary; squashed the day after a dozen. If I would have tried to play all 18, I would’ve hit my 30th birthday it was taking so long, and I’m only 28.
Best Way to Spend Christmas Eve
My son & I had a blast; our golfing skills were not with us this day, but the course was more than enough to make it a great outing. The man in the Pro shop was very welcoming getting us off on the right foot. I will play this course again.
Good for what it is
Meh quality of the course but overall worth it for a cheap round. Pace of play today was quite poor at about 4:30 for 18 but usually is quicker during the week.
STEER CLEAR
I would play anywhere else in DFW. Some of the greens are unplayable. Hard as a rock for the most part. Didn’t even have a bev cart for us to drink through the poor conditions. They should be paying people to play and leave good reviews.
Rough day at Duck Creek
Starting off, they were out of carts. Teed off about 20 minutes late which created a rush to finish before dark. The first two or three greens were literally just sand. Impossible to putt. They were so backed up that there was about a 10 minute wait before every shot. The restroom on the course was leaking raw sewage straight to the outside after every flush. Horrible smell. This course has so much potential but it is not taken care of at all.
