Decent Winter Greens
Greens are decent for winter conditions. Rest of the course is below average. Review may be biased as I played here before when it was Oakridge CC. So many strategic trees and bunkers have been removed it's a shell of what it used to be.
Sooner Would Be Better Than Later
The ads for this course keep talking about how great the course conditions are right now. Not exactly totally truthful. The greens are the bright spot. They are pretty good on the front side. I didn't play the back side . There was a threesome in front of me that would not let me play through. Never saw a marshall. The fairways are hard, dry, yellow, and full of cracks. The rough is also full of cracks. Several of the areas that used to be ponds are now only waste areas - and ugly waste areas at that. I paid for 18 and left after 9. I can't remember ever doing that. This course has the potential to be really good again. Let's hope that it is sooner than later.
Very interesting layout
You could tell that a one time this was a great course and has potential to be again. The layout was interesting and challenging at times, but course is not in very good shape right now. Needs water and grass!
Hidden Jem
I really like this course. It has the right amount of challenge. Its in very good condition, from tee to green. We did not see a cart girl or marshall. Played in 4.5 hrs. One of the best values for the money in my opinion.
Nice Creek. Sadky, no ducks.
My wife and I played here for the first time amd the only thing that she could find wrong was that there were no ducks. Needless to say, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely play here again.
Ghetto
this course was pretty ghetto! Apparently the course was left abandoned for a while before changing the name to Duck Creek and opening back up, and it definitely shows. More like pasture golf. The greens were in good condition and was the only highlight. The rest was pretty bad. If the green fee was more than the $22 that I paid, I would be extremely upset. I will not be coming back.
It just keeps getting better
This course just continues to improve since they reopened it. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Greens rolled well. Medium speed. Friendly staff and the facilities are getting much better. Keep up the good work Duck Creek.
Great Staff makes a world of difference
This was my first time at this course and right of the bat the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The course was very engaging with plenty or well placed hazards, specially the creeks. This feature alone makes you want to come back, but there is plenty more to entice your return including the very well kept greens.
Enjoyed the round
It was my first time playing the course and enjoyed it very much. The greens were in excellent condition, fairways were good and excellent overall experience.
A shot makers course
We were pleasantly surprised by Duck Creek. The greens were is very good shape as were the fairways. There were a couple of holes where, as first time players, we weren't sure where the fairway turned off of the tee box. I'll definitely play it again now that I know the nuances of the course.
The only drawback would be the size of the driving range which is the smallest I have seen.
Also, I felt like they had pulled a gun on when they charged me $4 for a Gatorade.
Good experience for the price
Very, very pleased with the round I played here. The course was in good shape despite the recent hot/dry weather. The greens were especially great (better than many other similarly-priced courses in DFW). The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful
The course itself was not particularly challenging, but there are a few holes that would be challenging for even low handicappers
Overall, a great experience for the price. I will definitely be back
Great Course
Had a free afternoon and found a great deal to go play. Despite the heat and no rain for 2 months the course was still in pretty good shape. Good layout, I'm a very average golfer so it was easy enough for me to play well on but still not the easiest course I've played.
Worth the money spent
Played this course yesterday, and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. While the course played rather short it offered a couple challenging holes. The only real problem I had was course markings, at times it was hard to figure distances or where the ball should be hit. I ended up on the wrong fairway a couple times.
Duck Creek
Played in late July. The fairways are in great shape. A couple of greens have a few bare spots. Bombers will have no problem navigating course. Almost every hole has houses, a couple the houses are close enough to factor into club selection off the tee.
WOW I AM IMPRESSED!!!!
What a change. I tried this place when it first opened due to the great prices but back then it was ok at best. Seemed like a good course if you lived somewhere rural. Then we tried it again after all the May rains. Not too bad. But on our last visit all I can say is wow. The greens are by far better than any within drive able distance. Rolled true and just the perfect speed for an weekend golfer and the tees and fairways are lush green and provided great lies. This course isn't long but poses quite a challenge while still being fun to play. Only negatives would be water coolers were a little short on water and at the turn the woman at the bar was not there and we had to wait. When she came out she was dressed poorly (not what you would expect at a golf course)and very rude and seemed put out that she had to serve us but almost demanded a tip.
Good course and quick pace
Course was in good shape and no waiting during the round!
Ya got me there then ya starved me....
The price was right. But it was late in the day...the beverage cart person was gone, all the coolers were empty...it was hot and there was no chance to hydrate on the course.
PLUS....The course is in the middle of a residential neighborhood and there are no directional signs from perimeter streets to find the club house.
Great value
For the price I couldn't ask for more. A couple pretty challenging holes but fairly forgiving fairway widths.
