Goat Ranch

First 9 greens were a basic game of plinko. Back 9 tee boxes reminded me of watching tiger woods because me and we're friends were taking hacks out of the rough. ON THE TEE BOX. I paid 10 bucks plus processing and still think I overpaid. Had to convince proshop I didn't owe them more money which didn't start my round off with a bang either.

First Time

First time playing Duck Creek and very impressed. Nice layout, though some of the tees are a long way from the previous green, but the holes themselves are interesting. Condition through the green was good considering the amount of rain we had last month, but the greens looked like they need some more time to really recover. The grass was pretty thin and putts were a little bumpy. Overall though, a great experience at a good price. Only negative was that play backed up a little bit the last few holes, but as a single with a cart I can catch up to just about anyone pretty quickly.

Hidden Secret

The over all course was in good shape after a big flood after the record setting rains in Texas. The greens were running pretty nice, but did have some bare areas. A great bargain to play Duck Creek.

Flooding had impact

The flooding has had an impact on the course condition but effort is being made to quickly repair it.I come to DFW to visit my kids and try to play DC each time. I an glad to see improvements being made in all aspects of the course. The staff was very helpful. I spoke to Eric about the carts - sounded like the clutch in mine was going out. He was great to talk to about the carts and the course. the tee boxes we in generally good shape. The greens were horrible but flooding will do that. This course is getting better all the time. Keep up the good work.

Great Course & Friendly Staff

After the down pour of the storms last night, the water on the course was really pretty drained off. The greens are looking great & playing slower in the mornings, but speed up in the afternoons. A couple of challenging Par 3's & No. 12 is always a challenge no matter how you play. Great course, easy to get to & the staff is awesome, friendly & always helpful. Of course I will go back, since it is my home course!!

Not too shabby

The pro shop doesn't like it when you book with golfnow. They make you feel like a second class citizen. Once on the course, it's in pretty good shape. The greens are hard and won't hold an iron shot (I use pro v 1). I was shocked by this since we just had 2 weeks of rain. The fairways, bunkers, and ruff were in good, not great, condition.

OK at best

Couse still needs a lot of work especially the greens and the tee boxes. I thought the fairways would be better given all the recent rain.

Hidden Gem

I used to drive by this course when it was closed, (it lay dormant for years) yearning to play it someday. I'm thankful it's been resurrected because The Duck has become a constant stop on my East Dallas golf swing. I like it's layout of moderate-to-challenging golf holes - the creek comes into play on many of the tougher ones. I LOVE the greens! They are fast and true. The carts have GPS, which is nice... I really enjoy that I can walk on most days. In fact, I'm sorry I ever wrote this review as I might have spoiled it a bit.

A good course on recovery

I played the course long time ago before it was closed down. I used to enjoy the good course with quite few nice gold fish in the pond. I am glad that someone reopened the course. I missed the gold fish that are no longer there to greet you.

Good Value / Recovering Course

Played on a weekend afternoon and didn't have a terribly slow pace of play, I normally walk so it gives the golfers in front time to clear. The distance from 9 to 10 is a bit slow for walkers, but not exceeding bad. The course is in decent shape, still recovering from the years of dormancy I would guess. The staff was friendly enough. Overall a decent golf experience if you aren't expecting 5 start course. The layout is fun, I would return.

Decievingly tough course

Do not be fooled by the short holes, danger awaits on both sides. Fallen leaves hide your ball quite well, I lost two balls right next to the green, somewhere under the leaves. Greens were tough to read, not as much break as you think. Overall a good test for long/mid irons/hybrids.

Course needs attention

Course very wet/muddy even though it had not rained lately but the greens are rock hard. Maybe a better groundskeeper would be in order.

Hidden Gem

This course is quickly becoming my favorite course in DFW. The course is forgiving so I don't lose many balls or spend the round wondering where my ball went. However, the greens are very challenging and it's one of the few courses in the area that you actually have to play your approach based on the greens and pin placement. I can feel I'm playing great and my score isn't. It is very challenging but fun. In order to score well, you have to place the ball on the right part of the fairway and putt great. A+

Lot of good things about course

Course was in really good shape compared to the other times I've played. Greens were tricky speedy & rolled very well, all else looked green & lush.
Don't like how tight you are to all of the houses. There must be a neighborhood law for all residents to wear a helmet while in their backyards... FOUR!!!!
