Georgetown Country Club
About
Georgetown Country Club is an old, private course, dating back to 1924 when it was a 9-hole layout. The second nine was added in the 1970s, and today the par 70 layout rolls through the San Gabriel River valley, with water coming into play on eleven holes.
The old nine is more basic, taking advantage of the natural terrain without as many modern, man-made hazards. The newer back is a bit more difficult, highlighted by the signature 13th, which plays 538-yards and crosses the San Gabriel twice.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take the Lake Georgetown/Andice exit and turn left. Drive over the overpass and turn left onto Country Club Road. Look for the clubhouse on the left side of the road.

Different kind of golf course
This is the 3rd time I've golfed this course, and love it now.
It's very tight, and different than any other course in the area.
It's hard the first time you golf it..but you'll grow to love it.
Nice Day
Enjoyed this course. Very pretty. Many blind shots so we’ll play it differently next time. T boxes and fairways in good shape. A couple of the greens were a bit spotty around the edges but didn’t affect putts. Areas in front of greens a bit on the damp side so had to adjust for that. No traps but greens smaller, putts ran with good speed and fair. Only downside was no range.
Good value at GolfNow for $28 + tax.
Hope to play there again soon.
Bring a few extra balls
This course is short but tight, with a lot of blind shots and water everywhere. Hazards are unplayable for the most part. First timers--don't worry about your score, just get a lay of the land. I had some credits, so I didn't pay full price, but the $70 price tag is a bit much considering lack of amenities (NO driving range) and a few of the greens were pretty beat up.
Great Day!
Gorgeous course! It's a short course, however it's incredibly narrow. You can score well here if you play conservatively. Would definitely come back here.
Course has great views of San Gabriel river valley
This is a short course that requires some thinking and shot making to score well. The conditions of the greens were spotty and the course had a MacGyver kind of quaint feel to it unlike the typical country club experience.
Not Going Back
my Second time to play. The 1st time it was wide open and fast play. the course layout is very odd, some holes in a good way, but most not so much. Greens are bad, Real bad. But Texas heat does that. I hate temporary greens though, it ruins the hole, especially if it is a par 3, like the one they have now. I only went back because it was fast play and cheap....but this time it was very very slow play, and the weakness of the course made that unbearable.
However, my biggest problem is with the golf shop guy who was kind of pompous. He had attitude. I guess cause He has been at the Country Club for many years, he feels it is cool to act like a jerk to the public that is "allowed" to play their course. I think he thinks he's clever, or funny, but to me he was just not nice.
Combine that with weird layout, slow play, and bad course conditions, and I don't care how cheap it is, I will not be going back.
The greens were atrocious.
Every green had large swaths of grass missing, filled-in with sand.
Very surprising for a "Country Club".
If you're not a member, they have you sign a book to ensure you only play the course twice per month...which is funny.
Don't let the "Best Kept Secret" keep you from playing
This is a great course. It is tight and gives you lots of practice for those wide, luxurious courses that are not as much of a challenge. It's Beautiful, short, had some challenging holes and some fairly (easy) shots will give you what you want. Don't miss out on this PRIVATE course. It is fun and aggravating at the same time.
Lots of water
Fun course for senior hacker. You can reach most holes in regulation. Fairways are tight and some hidden water. just need a little accuracy. Played by myself with no rush. I don't understand there two rounds a month per nonmember if I was the only one to use the hot deal. I will play again
Great layout with some interesting holes
Course was in very good condition except for a few of the greens. Recent aeration impacted a few but in a week or 2 they should be very good. I would definitely recommend this course
First Time Playing this course
Although short, the course has plenty of shot making challenges. Greens and surrounds were in excellent shape. Gave me a chance to work on the my long and intermediate iron game off the tees through most of the holes.
Fun course
Beautiful course. River runs through and lots of water hazards
Will play there again
Very enjoyable course. A shorter course with a par score of 70. With our recent rains, the course looked beautiful. Tons of wildlife. Easy to find. Course layout is really interesting with hills and valleys. Established in the 1920's this course is a lot of fun to play. One of the best compliment I can give the GCC is that I will play this course again. It is a member's course, but there are limited slots for Golfnow clients.
Just an all around fun and challenging course
This is a course that challenges you but allows for any level of play. Gorgeous scenery.
Hit it straight
You better hit it straight in most holes, if not have fun looking for your ball or just drop another. There are some open holes but not many. Is a good corse to play. Some short drivable par fours, but they are narrow, so big risk reward. All in all good course for the money.
The course greens and fairways were well maintained
This was my first visit and, as noted found the course of moderate difficulty, well maintained with no delays and a friendly staff. Will walk next time with the wife, who is learning to play.
course conditions
The fairways and greens were poor. The course layout was medoicre
