Georgetown Country Club
About
Georgetown Country Club is an old, private course, dating back to 1924 when it was a 9-hole layout. The second nine was added in the 1970s, and today the par 70 layout rolls through the San Gabriel River valley, with water coming into play on eleven holes.
The old nine is more basic, taking advantage of the natural terrain without as many modern, man-made hazards. The newer back is a bit more difficult, highlighted by the signature 13th, which plays 538-yards and crosses the San Gabriel twice.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take the Lake Georgetown/Andice exit and turn left. Drive over the overpass and turn left onto Country Club Road. Look for the clubhouse on the left side of the road.

The Course has great features
I enjoy to play this Course, it has a lot of great shots and a lot of water all arround
Wonderful winding golf course
We were first time players in this course. Yardage was shorter than other regular golf course. We thought that easy course. NO, just beautiful, but winding and up and down. Pretty challenging course. We love to go back to play again..
They have improved this course and amenities over the years.
Have been in the area, but had not played this course in 5-6 yrs. Recent rains provided excellent conditions, but you can tell they have been working to improve the condition over the year.
Excellent experience. Will do it again
Country Club or Muni??
Georgetown Country Club is a decent course, which looks more like a municipal course, than a Country Club. It's a short course with many blind shots that can get you in trouble if it's your first time playing the course. I would recommend it for the Hot Deal price on GolfNow.
Great Tips from Marshall John!
The course, overall, was in great condition and the greens rolled beautifully.
Soon after we began the second hole, Marshall John pulled up and gave us some insight on how to approach the course. He would come and go, undoubtedly off aiding others, but each time he returned, we were all ears.
He was an absolute pleasure to talk to and the conversation wasn't limited to golf.
Your tee time?
I prepaid a tee time ( Golfnow Hot deal) for 1:00. However, this time was arbitrarily given to a member by the staff and I was assigned a later tee time. I was able to get off a bit early by my own doing and complete the round. I reported the club not honoring the tee time to Golfnow as it was their tee time but got no support.
Short course....but tight and challenging
I played with a fellow who grew up on this course. His 69 was earned. This course is not long. But what it lacks in length, it makes up for in challenging drives and approaches. This course has huge oaks EVERYWHERE. On one of the par fives, I absolutely crushed my drive, but had to lay up because I wasn't going to get a 4 iron over the trees fronting the green. You really don't need a driver on this course. A 3 wood is plenty. I hit more irons off the tee than I can remember. This is a great course to work on your iron game. Plenty of break in the greens. Overall, an enjoyable course. It has the personality you only see in older courses.
The staff was great, and the Marshall was helpful with approach tips.
Great Outing
Old traditional course not for the pretentious type.
Very enjoyable round
Great value..nice carts...beautiful scenery..not too difficult to play
slowwww..
Private club that let's members play 6 or 8-somes. Terribly slow round, but an easy course if you have the patience and enjoy sitting behind large groups of old men and women.
Comes up a Little Short
The setting was beautiful around the San Gabriel River. The fairways were in great shape. The greens, however, were deplorable. There were a lot of brown spots and a lot of bare spots, causing an excessively fast putting situation. Overall, the facility was very enjoyable!!
Georgetown Golf CC
Short but challenging course; hilly, blind holes. Bring lot of golf balls if not a target player.
This course does have it's challenges
We had a good time even though the course had its challenges. Narrow in places and some good dog legs. Fairways and greens were in good condition. We will come back.
Georgetown County Club
I arrived as a single but was paired with three other Golfnow customers. Proshop was very friendly and we started on time. Pace of play was excellant and the course was very nice and well maintained. Will definatley try to golf there again.
Old School
The original course was built in 1927, and it feels like it on some holes. Beware of tee boxes - not far from the greens your on... Leave the driver in your bag unless you hit it very straight - no room for a draw or fade.....
Good day for 18
Tuesday play was a good pace even though it was busy . Bring extra balls, no room for slice or hook playing this course! Scenic and interesting terrain.
Water, water
Bring extra balls, there i8s a good chance you lose some in the water
First time at Georgetown Country Club
My husband and I were there when they were having open house. Staff was friendly and helpful. We both enjoyed the course and will be back to play again.
We both hope this course remains open to the public.
Re-Work
Tough little course BUT wore out, needs to be re-worked Badly... Grass is gone and ground is hard as a rock. Probably won't play again. Most Greens are in really sad shape. Leave your lob wedge in the bag in most areas, don't even think about it. Oh ya... make sure your cart has good brakes!!!Severe elevation changes on some holes...if you play you'll see what I mean...
Hidden Old School Course
Short track, with a lot of holes that play into each other and a few par 4's you can drive the green to. The greens had a lot of issues when I played or I would have given it a higher rating. Considering everything else around, it's fun to play once or twice but not somewhere I would want to join. Probably fun to play in tournaments on or play with a member ever so often. Very scenic course with water running through most of it. It's just old and not maintained like a country club should be.
