Golfer Reviews
Course was in good condition except for greens but overall a good day
Oak Creek on a Saturday
Pace of play was 5+ hours couldn’t get into a rhythm. They ran out of food by the grill so your only option were chips, candy and drinks. Greens were horrible since they were recently aerated, plus extremely dry and balding conditions. Bunkers were rock hard, like hitting off cement.
Greens
I should have made aware of the aeration of the holes.
Pace of play
The fairways and tee boxes in great shape. .The greens are punched and been punched over a week and no change what so ever in green condition ..not sanded again and not rolled to help.punches repair..very much like a Plinko game.from price is right..don't know where it's going to end...the putt that is.
But the #1 problem is the pace of play..We had a nice weather day but course was average busy but took 5hrs. CART PATH ONLY HINDERED PACE OF PLAY AND THE GROUP 1-2 FOURSOMES IN FRONT OF THE 3some was very slow...off cart path would help and ranger to move them along. Would help .
Rough Shape
Played when the greens had been punched (not the courses fault; it's regular maintenance). However, rest of course was not in great shape for what's supposed to be the start of the spring season... rough looking tee boxes, fairways, and inconsistent green side bunkers for the price you pay.
Winter Recovery
Course still recovering from winter. Due to work on front 9 had to play back 9 twice.
Super Slow - In Poor Condition
Greeted at the first tee and told pace of play is 4:30. Great. Marshals on front and back 9s to enforce. Great. Four hours in we are on the 13th tee. Waiting to tee off at every hole. Horrible and nothing done by the marshals.
Restaurant closes at 3pm Sundays. No food on the turn. Lovely.
The course was in really bad shape as well and apparently they aerated the greens the next day. Avoid this course.
Pretty nice course for March in Maryland
Course was pretty empty on a Monday and windy and overcast conditions probably kept some people away. Tee boxes were a little bare but the fairways and greens were in excellent shape considering winter is barely over. Played from the whites and found them challenging yet fair. Huge greens with difficult undulations. Definitely would love to play there again.
Great value, approachable
Nice course with some interesting holes. Well maintained for mid March. Excellent value
Slushy fairways
Fairways near the greens were wet and slushy. The tee boxes were muddy on several holes as the grass haven't came in yet.
Great day at Oak Creek
Played this past weekend and was very impressed by the product at Oak Creek. The gentleman in the pro shop was friendly and inviting as were the cart kids outside. Pace of play was fantastic for what I assume was a busy day. They even had a cart girl out in the beginning of March which we did not expect. Only downside was the restaurant was closed but the pro shop gentlemen made us fresh hot dogs and gave us the option to sit on the patio to enjoy the weather. Overall a fantastic day we will be back many times this summer!
