Good course to try if you travel to the DC area
The course was in good shape and the greens were really receptive. Was going to play lake presidential but heard this one was in better shape right now. We try it again, with better course knowledge, the next time in the area
SLOW PACE BUT WORTH IT
Hot steamy sunday morning round. Staff met us in the parking lot with a cart, loaded us up and drove us in. got off early. had a slow foursome in front of us but wasn't too bad of a wait. fairways and most of the greens were in great shape. only greens that were sub par was due to a lack of ball mark repair , not from mismanagement. played here several times before but I have never seen it this good. great time. worth the $70 bucks compared to the other courses in the area. will play again soon.
Long but fair
We played it in preparation for the Largest day of golf. It was very hot and humid and due to the amount of rain it was cart path only. Course was in great shape and a good challenge. Long par fives and the day we played so were the par threes. What you see is what you get. First par five on the back is more like a par six with the full S to get to the green
Worth the drive
This course layout reminds me of being in Florida
Nice course, needs more practice.
Great Course!!
The course was in fantastic shape!!! I highly recommend playing this course anytime you can. The fairways, rough and greens are just terrific...recommend not to play in tough to much as it is thick. Enjoy the course!!
Great Course, Great Conditions!
My father and I played this course Saturday with a 12:10 Tee Time. The course was absolutely open and we had next to zero waiting. The first hold up was on the 13th hole on the back nine, which is all you can ask for. The course was in really good shape, the fairways and rough were extremely nice. Nice fluffy fairways which really played well. The course is a bit more narrow than most but not too narrow. From the tee box it is more narrow than it appears so as a first time player of the course I was taking more Irons off the tee just to be safe here, my next round I will know that it is okay to be more aggressive because it is more open that it seems. The course is not the easiest and will test the average golfer but it is not a course where you can't shoot low. I look forward to playing this course and I know my father and I will be coming back here in the future to play. Overall great experience!
Very good course.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Round was very slow. Got behind a foursome that was playing from the wrong tees and they were all over the course. The group in front of them had five golfers and played very slow. Said something to marshal but he did not seem to care.
Great course
Great course but glad I got it for cheaper on golfnow.com cause $80 is to pricey but it's is a great course
Great Course
This was the second time I played the course. Previously the fairways were dormant and conditions not the greatest due to the time of year. The course is now in great shape. The only negative I can mention were the speed of the greens, they seemed a bit slow. The staff at the course was very friendly and professional.
Oak Creek
Great layout with character. My only complaint was the greens were slow. Small clubhouse.
Oak Creek
The course is very well maintained with a challenging layout where risk and reward are part of the game. The staff was friendly while the pace of play was good for a Sunday afternoon. a round of 18 holes was completed within 4:30 hours. I will return to play this fun and challenging course.
Course set up was a joke
Just played a Golf Channel Am Tour event there. Maintenance put the pin placement on 17 on a downhill slope. Unless you were lucky you could not two putt. Four and five putts were the norm. Can not believe the staff put the pin there. It ruined an even par round up to that point. Told management I would never come back and will urge my friends not to play there. It's to bad because the layout is fun to play. If this is how they treat tournament guests it's not worth playing. Management should be embarrassed as they missed an opportunity to present their course to seventy guys who haven't played there before. Also 4 hour and 50 minute round because of public play out before the tournament. Way to slow.
Excellent condition, good layout, but challenging
Outstanding thing about this course is that you just don't have much room off the fairway, it's very easy to lose balls on this course if you don't hit straight.
Otherwise a good, challenging but not overwhelming layout, nice carries, some ponds, uphill greens, good stuff. Greens in excellent condition, nice clubhouse, a very nice course but a little expensive. Still at $85 it's a good deal compared to other courses at the same price-point.
fair # of houses and some road-noise here and there
Good Course
Enjoyed my round here and will definitely be back.
Nice course
I was greeted at my car by a nice young man asking if he could take my bag to the clubhouse for me. The first impression was great. Once I got into the pro shop, it wasn't such a friendly vibe. Everyone has their days so I brushed it off. The range is nice with accurate yardage posted. The course is long, and challenging. There are a few bad spots on the fairways that are being addressed, as you would expect of a course this new. My only complaint is that right after our group went out, the next five or six groups after us were pairs and singles. It was a little frustrating having to keep allowing people to play through. I will play this course a few times more, because I know it has all of the potential to be a premier course in the are.
Staff
We were running a little late for our tee time. The staff met us in the parking lot and expedited our check-in process to get us out before a large group in a very friendly manner. Overall, the course has a nice design. However, on the front their are asfault traps. I'm not sure if that's permanent or they will be putting sand in the in the near future. Several of the fairways had dead spots where too much water has destroyed the grass. This course has high hopes, but a very wet spring has hurt its conditions.
Looks are deceiving
On the outside, this course looks to be a 5-star spot in the middle of Upper Marlboro. It recently switched from private to semi-private so I relished the ability to try the course. The course is...disappointing. The whole course does not drain well, the time in between holes is unnecessary, and the course demands far too much. There is no reward for good shots, and far too much punishment for less than perfect shots. That, along with the poor conditions, made my round memorable for all the wrong reasons. On top of that, the bar/restaurant looks great, but the service is less than attentive.
Solid course in housing development
A fun Sunday afternoon round with some friends at Oak Creek.
Make no mistake: this course was built for the housing development. Homes are generally set back from play, but you'll see them from most of the holes. There are a few places where the course leaves the houses for a hole or two, but it generally winds through the neighborhoods, often with long drives between greens and tees.
Conditions are average for this area--not quite as nicely maintained as Enterprise but better than Bowie or Eisenhower. There are some bare spots, and it seems Oak Creek has stopped watering some of the rough to cut costs. The browned-out look is good for golf, but the course wasn't quite designed for it. Balls just a bit off-line will roll into the thick woods.
A nice mix of holes, with some variety in doglegs, length (one or two drivable par-4 holes and reachable par-5s), and elevation changes. I can't say that many holes will stick with me days or weeks later, but none of them baffle with silly design either. All in all a solid track for this area and one I'll come back to.
On the food--my playing partners were disappointed that the beverage cart didn't have much to offer beyond pretzels/crackers. The 9th green doesn't come back to the clubhouse, but the course was not crowded so we probably could have made a detour.
Great Challenge
Was greeted by Mr. Don in the proshop and immediately felt welcomed. The course was in very good shape even though we had a down pour the night before. The course presented a very good challenge and I can't wait to play again.
i would play here every day if i could
Just needs to grow a little around the greens and some places in the rough!! Over all great and the price is right 60$ -45$ after 2 weekdays staff was great !! Next time I will eat there !! Did not stay for food or drinks!!

Update 4/2016:
Played this weekend and course is by no means in regular season shape, many bare/under repair spots on fairways and rough is a little spotty. Hopefully it comes in well.
Greens are still recovering from aeration. A little surprised they were charging full "summer" rates. Many better deals in this area, but the course wasn't crowded.
