Golfer Reviews
good golfing
we had a great time and will be back to play again.
Great Course. Plays Long.
This has become my favorite public course in the DMV area. It can be long - 7100 from the tips - but it even playing from one of the shorter teeboxes the variation in the holes (length of 3s, double doglegs 5s, strategic holes on the 4s) makes it really fun. Never broken 90 on the course (16 hcp) but it is always in great condition.
Great layout, friendly professional staff, hassle free check in. Highly recommended course.
Winter Golf
This course had one of the best conditions for winter golf in a potentially snowy climate i have ever played.
While the grass looks dead, it still played quite similarly to a normal round.
Greens rolled true, fairways were NOT rock hard and the the rough was definitely playable.
Will definitely be coming back. Can't beat the value.
Great course for the price
This course is one of the best public courses in Prince George county. You will love it. If you haven't played I highly recommend it.
One Time
Great layout and great condition for this time of year! Lots challenges for any golfer. Buddy had a hole in one which makes it more memorable. Looking forward to playing again.
I want to lie...
I want to lie and say this place is terrible so I can keep this course all to myself...alas I cannot insult the hardworking staff. I've played most public courses in the DC area and this tops out as the best for the money. Course was in great shape all year long, is a fair challenge for bogie golfers but not impossible like Lake Presidential or Old Hickory, and is easily accessible from the beltway. Unfortunately I expect it to get more popular, but hopefully they will keep tee-times at 10 minute intervals to keep a good pace of play.
COME ON!!!!!
First off, this course USED to be a hidden gem and that is no longer the case. I say that because the conditions were AMAZING due to the hard work of the staff and the concern displayed by the smaller pool of players. Now that word has gotten out about the course, a lot of the same idiots that ruin other courses in the area have come here. It is amazing to me the level of ignorance or just total lack of respect for the game and course but there are a ton of morons in the DMV who know NOTHING about golf and the etiquette of the game. They play incredibly slow and fail to fix divots in the fairways and ball marks on the greens. Other than ranting like this, I don't know what the golf community can do to shun people like this because they don't belong playing at a course like this-go to Marlton and finish destroying that course and leave this one alone. The same kind of damage was done to Lake Presidential and now that place is gone to the dogs. Please, please leave us serious golfers one nice golf course in the area. My threesome fixed over 10 ball marks on #8 alone. You people know who you are and if you think i might be talking about you-I am. Learn the history and etiquette of game before you show up in sweat pants to play. Lastly, for the staff, I'm not sure the Marshall with the mullet is the guy you want directing traffic on the course.
i will return
From the time we walked into the pro shop we were treated like long time members, friendly staff that answered all our questions and were helpful in all ways. The golf course exceeded the reviews we had seen on line, tees fairways were in great shape and the huge greens were some of the best ive played all year.
If you want a challenging round on a well maintained golf course staffed with friendly people this is for you.
Oak creek golf now deal
Excellent course tough back nine for ladies - long and target golf
nice course; good deal when green fees discounted
This a very nice, well maintained and challenging course. Have played here three times and enjoyed it each time. Would play here more often but the green fees can often be a bit steep.
Just a great experience
Coarse in great condition. Tee boxes best I've played with this year . Layout is very manageable and fairways are well matured. This coarse have sand traps that were sand traps not concrete or mud. Finally the golf carts were fully charge and had great power.⛳️
Diamond in the Rough
The course was in great shape and very secluded. No distractions and plenty of wild life. Staff was excellent.
Becoming a new area favorite
With everyone else in the DC metro area suffering from a loss of fairways due to the heat, Oak Creek is thriving. The conditions are excellent. fairways lift your ball up daring you to go for the varied greens. The layout, despite being inside a housing community, is excellent. There is little or no encroachment from the houses. Let's hope it stays that way. Some fairway or waste area bunkers still need improvement. Despite the sizzling hot weather, the conditions made the round bearable. Keep it up Oak Creek. We will definitely be back.
Nice course.
Nicely maintained/manicured course. Well worth what I paid, despite how horribly I played (my fault). Greens a bit bumpy in places, but had recently been aerated, so understandable. Otherwise, nice greens with the quick pace I like, again notwithstanding my lack of execution thereon.
Pleasantly surprised.
I have been wanting to get to this course since it went public over one year ago. Went out as a single in the afternoon. While all the courses near me seem to be losing the fairways due to the heat, these were very nice. No dead grass or crab glass. Tees where in good shape. Greens were a touch slow as they just aerated 2 weeks ago. Staff is very friendly. I would recommend buying the course card as there is no GPS. Cannot walk or use driver on range. Only negatives. Will be bringing my foursome to play.
Outstanding course
This is a very nice course, a bit long and challenging but worth every penny. The staff couldn't be nicer, they bend over backwards for you! Very nice restaurant for afterwards!
Nice course
Very nice course the staff are excellent.
Fairways were perfect, lush
Played Oak Creek on Sunday 8/28/16. Day was perfect, good weather, friendly and helpful staff, good pace of play, fairways were lush and perfect. Greens had been aerated about a week ago, but were rolling true. Just needed a towel handy between putts to get the sand off. And the topper to a really good day was my playing partner made a hole-in-one on the par 3 8th hole. First one I have witnessed in person. The only negative comment I would have is that it wasn't made for walkers. Some long distances between holes. Especially between hole 1 and hole 2.
