Top Course
Oak Creek has surpassed Lake Presidential as the superior course in PG County MD. Course is well maintained. Pace of play is great. Cart girl makes several rounds during your round. Fairways and greens in excellent shape this late in the season.
nice course would play again
We had a great time. It's a nice course, with some challenges but not too hard. The biggest downside, no one repairs a divot, so the greens were super beat up. But the rest was in nice condition.
We liked it and would play again.
Course is in Excellent condition...greens , fairways, tee boxes ...it was cart path only...felt it should be just restricted to 4 to 6 holes. And also rangers should be looking at pace of play ..esp last time 4 some was horribly slow and NO Golf Etiquette..
Great round considering weather
Oak Creek was in amazing shape the morning after receiving 2inches of ran - only one fairway was slightly impacted, fully understand the traps. I would have give a 5 but its obvious that the memo on fixing divots and ball marks continues to baffle the members
Oak Hill 14 AUG 24
Course conditions were almost perfect - after playing some baked out courses in the mid-Atlantic all summer with little rain, these Bermuda fairways have held up beautifully. The greens are also in great shape, but as others have reviewed, people need to fix ball marks. I fixed at least 5-6 per hole, and could have done more if time permitted.
The holes are separated by housing in a gated community - you lose a sense of continuity with the holes as some are separated by a ride of a minute or more from the greens to the next tees, but you aren't distracted by players from adjacent holes.
The staff and service were top-notch. They noticed that our cart was down to about at 10% charge on the 5th hole and came out to replace it.
The course is very friendly for women golfers - only one forced lay-up (#3) if you don't carry the ball very far.
Some very good shot values throughout - generous fairways with some demanding shots into the greens, which had some interesting undulations - it would take several rounds too know where to hit your approaches to given the possible pin positions.
Thoroughly enjoyed this golf course!
Nice Course but Rough Greens
Such a nice course but man the greens were in rough shape from ball marks. Could barely putt straight. Everything else beautiful.
Fairways and greens in great condition..The movement on course was bad only because we had a 4 some I front of Us playing from the green and lack tees ..That never once got off the tee without 3 or more shots.. The course ranger or marshall could of helped here. They wouldn't let us play through and had verily bad etiquette..even to their own group. Also playing music very loud from the green you could hear it clearly on next tee box. The ranger could of helped here but never saw him til the turn.
Staff is the best in the County, really disappointed I did not rejoin (ended up at Woodmore, major mistake)
Best valued course in the county, my all time favorite
Steve
Nice course. Well maintained.
Players need to repair ball marks & rake bunkers.
Great Course for the $$$
Fairways were in great shape . Greens rolled real nice. Never waited on a tee box, pace was great. Only criticism would be the distances could be better marked . (maybe put yardage on sprinkler heads).Courses may be assuming everyone has rangefinders or apps in play these days. Also , did not know flag position as all flags were white and no pin position was communicated . Still , best value around IMO.
Irrigation issue
I booked a tee time but upon arrival we were informed that due to irrigation issues it would be cart path only. Hmmm. If you knew you had irrigation issues I think it is okay to give 10% off or $20 back upon arrival. It makes for a long day for those with health challenges. In addition, there were GPS fencing issues that slowed movement around the course. Out of fairness, offer something
First Time
Had an enjoyable time at this course. First time playing here, course was in pretty good shape considering the previous weeks of no rain and extreme heat. Was cart path only. Cart girl made some good drinks. Had issues with the golf cart losing gps signal and not allowing it to drive forward on the cart path on a couple holes but overall was a great experience.
