Golfer Reviews
Thanks for leaving us a review, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Prairie Lakes and hope you'll come see us again soon!
Dormant fairways
Tees were nice. Fairways were brown and hard,l; must have been he to the winter season. Greens were sprayed. Some were fast, some were slow and bumpy

Great value, but could be even better with a couple of tweaks
We've played Prairie Lakes as often as anywhere this fall / winter. For a course in this value range, it's a nice setup with 3 9-hole sections that are rotated based on the day / time of your tee time. Each of the 9-hole courses (Red, White, and Blue) have their own layouts / challenges. Red is the most open with the least amount of trees and water. White has the most water, followed by Blue. Blue has by far the most trees.
With a little TLC and some tweaks to how the course schedules groups, this place would be not only a value leader, but a stellar facility. Too often they allow players in groups of 5 and / or walkers during the busiest times of the day. If those walkers were all competitive high school golfers, it wouldn't be bad, but a recreational golfer whose handicap is over 25 should not be allowed to walk during a Saturday or Sunday prime-time round.

Hard course in great shape
Amazing shape for January and best clubhouse in DFW

My favorite course
Been my "home course" for over 30 years. Played a number of other local courses, this is my favorite.
Only thing some golfers won't like is there are NO sand traps. No issue there for me. But it would be nice if they added some .

Pretty Good Muni
First time playing Prairie Lakes. Played with some fun guys that both knew the course. Fairways were dormant, but pretty quick. The ball ran out well. Greens were receptive. Seemed like a lot of people failed to fix there ball marks??! Speed was not overly quick, but I struggled to read them because, they too were mostly dormant. We played Blue/White. Seemed like every Par 3 was overwater and playing about 180-190 yards into the wind?? There’s a reason they call it Prairie Lakes, but most of the water was pretty apparent; no hidden hazards that were actually in play(unless you were trying to hit the short Par 4s from the box). I’ll definitely go back. It reminded me of Grapevine Muni, and that’s a compliment. And the Pro Shop had a “Special” on ProVs; $40/dozen(normally $59!). Have fun! Play well!

Winter in Texas
Arrived early and had lunch at Eddlemon’s. Probably the best BBQ that I’ve had in the DFW metro. Order the brisket sandwich, you won’t be sorry.
Always enjoy this place every time I’ve played here. Yes, this is winter in Texas. The course was in great shape and the greens rolled true. One of the great things about Prairie Lakes is that it offers 27 holes. Pace of play is exceptional. This place is becoming one of my favorites.

Great weather for December
Tee off on the Red course and stayed in the fairway about 8 minutes waiting to hit my second shot. Foursome was on the green taking forever to putt and another foursome on the fairway. I was by myself. This had 5 hours written all over it. I went back to the White course and a twosome had just tee off. I played behind them and the pace was pretty good for the day. Greens and fairways were in good shape. Shot my best front nine 44 in years but blew up on the back nine. Still had a really good time and the weather was perfect 57, sunny and no wind at all.

6 hour round of golf
No beverage cart On a Saturday afternoon. No Marshall. Rushed us to tee box before our time. Course is nice. But took 6 hours to play 18, even when there are 27 holes.
We appreciate you taking time to leave us a review, Casey. We hope you'll come see us again soon!
Good Value
Solid value for the price. Good practice facilities. Course is always in decent shape and plays pretty short. A lot of fun par 3s and challenging holes on the water. No sand. Even if you miss the fairway you have a good chance of finding your ball.

Not a fun day, slow play and very windy
I think the title says it all, staff were wonderful, kind of expensive, but a lot was spent on remodel. Not as fun as before, even senior tees are challenging to get pars.
Thanks for leaving us a review, Paul. We hope you'll book another round at Prairie Lakes again soon!
