About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

great course in great condition
have been playing this course for many years, one of my favorites to play in DFW area. its in great shape overall -- fairways and bunkers in good condition, greens in great shape and roll true. nice and quiet, nice views of surroundings. we were behind a slow group most of the round but wasnt too bad, finished in 4 hours but probably couldve been 15 minutes or so less. highly recommend as a must play in southern dallas county.

Consistent
Tangle Ridge is one of the best courses around here. We were able play for a great rate (not sure why, but we will take it!). We plan on playing this one through the rest of the summer and fall as many times as my wallet allows!

Fun course with hills and creeks you wouldn’t expect to see in the area
Course is in great shape especially for the price.
The clubhouse staff and Marshalls definitely prefer their regulars but the cart girl was very nice and we saw her a few times.
Marshall didn’t care about the 5-some in front of us with two walkers holding up play Bc they “were on pace”

Awesome Course
The 40 minute drive was worth the drive. This course is fantastic. Great layout, undulations everywhere, great bunkers, multi tiered greens etc. fairways and greens in great condition (unlike a lot of DFW courses). I played poorly but still really enjoyed my round Pro shop staff friendly, cart girl came around about 4 times during our round (which was under 4 hours). Great value I will be back

Course was in great shape considering the heat. Well done maintenance crew. Ice provided in restaurant. Water available on lots of holes. Finished 18 in 3:30 as a twosome.
Greens has slope and rolled true, just difficult to read.
Bunkers were inconsistent. Most had too much sand. Tough to argue when everything else was close to perfect considering the heat.

Great shape!
Tangle Ridge doesn't disappoint. Greens are in excellent shape. Fairways are in excellent shape. Holes are challenging but fair. Pace was good for twilight. I highly recommend Tangle Ridge.

Greens are rolling well but sandy
Fairways are in great shape but some tee boxes are still damaged from February frozen turf condition.
