Great Course
I love playing the course. The staff is one of the best courses around. Will be back real soon!!
Former Customer
My group of 6-8 people played there every weekend until a few months ago when you discontinued your punch cards. Too many other courses to play for less than your weekend rate. Let me know when you bring the punch cards back...we will buy 4 10 punch cards $1200.00 total. You are losing revenue!
Overpriced for what it is
While the course is in good shape its not worth the money there asking for to play there. Also, it seems like a lot of beginner golfers play there so stay alert (to the max) for stray golf balls flying through the air.

Fun layout around water
Par 3's are really fun to play. Challenging when the wind blows. Good BBQ at the food counter.

Prairie Lakes Golf Course
Great deal for the money. Course is in great shape for the middle of summer in Texas. You can actually get your tee in the ground at the tee boxes, fairways and greens are in excellent shape. The cart girl made the rounds in a timely manner. Great day at the golf course.

Pace of play was bad
The course was in good shape for a Texas course in the middle of summer. The greens were smooth and the fairways were well-maintained. However, there were multiple groups of 20+ handicap golfers being allowed to tee off from the tips, and that slowed the rest of the course down. The one thing lacking at Prairie Lakes is a marshal or starter, and if there was one, he / she could see these duffers teeing off and barely clearing the front tees and tell them that they needed to move up to the 2nd set of tees at worst.

great course
this is a really good course with very challenging holes for beginners but manageable; i've seen advanced players having a good time with these courses too

Summer morning
Beautiful course first thing in the morning. Only negative is #1 tee box looks directly into the morning sun. Other than that the course is laid out nicely. Roughs were kept low, greens and fairways were true and fast. There are holes for every level of play including some really narrow straights along the waterline. Pace started really slow and late but picked up after passing one group that was just having fun. Staff was very friendly and cheerful for early morning. Enjoyed a great brisket sandwich at the 28th hole. Perfect time to play as it was nice and cool when we tee’d off and around 105 heat index when we finished. Everything was clean and we had separate carts due to covid. Would definitely play again soon.

You’re welcome
Solid short course playing around 6400 or so from the tips. Fairways may be a little narrow from the tips, but plenty of room to bail out right or left depending on the hole under some trees. It’ll give you a lot of practice with your punch/knock down shots. Greens rolls better this time around because they have healed some, but for some reason a lot of these courses in the area don’t know how to take care of the greens well so you can clearly still see where the punch marks were and it may not roll true 100 percent of the time like you’d hope. Not sure if it’s how they’re seeding, rolling, or watering. I may be back out, but not too soon for there are many other courses I would play in the area over prairie lakes with a little bit more of a challenge

Great track at a great price
All 3 nines at Prairie Lakes are unique and challenging in their own ways. The course was in great shape for our round, and not too crowded. Will play there again soon.

Every bit worth the 4.6 avg rating
In town on a work trip and was very happy with the round at Prairie Lakes. Found it to be every bit worthy of the 4.6 avg rating and glowing reviews on golfnow (I realize I rated it an overall 4 but 4.6 isn't an option and didn't think it had that 5 star championship feel). We played right after a storm blew through early so the fairways were soggy but the greens had drained nicely and were very playable. Definitely a 5 star value as we walked for just $20 and played in UNDER 4 hours early on a Monday when all the club courses are closed (take that snooty clubs!). Lots of locals having a good time and all very friendly. And make sure you allow time for the 19th hole - I liked the fork-tender brisket better than the much ballyhooed Hard Eight and the self acclaimed "Almost World Famous" smoked sausage was a big hit! Definitely worth the time and price. Would definitely play here again give the chance.
