Riverside Golf Club
About
Riverside Golf Club is appropriately named. The course sits in a floodplain along the Trinity River with water in play on seemingly every hole. This is a combination links-style/traditional layout that is surprisingly difficult for a municipal course. Great holes abound on the Roger Packard layout, which requires the rare combination of length and accuracy when playing from the tips.
Holes 4-6 offer one of the better stretches of golf, starting with a 462-yard par 4 that is cut in the landing area by pesky fairway bunkers, and features a long approach into an elevated green that is surrounded by water and slopes back-to-front. Club down on no. 4 because leaving it short still offers the chance for an up-and-down. No. 5 is a good par 3, especially from the middle tees where it generally plays as a short iron. Watch for the front pin placement, which can leave you with a long downhill putt if the tee shot is too long. Water looms to the right but it takes a bad shank to dunk it in the drink. No. 6 goes 543 yards, doglegging left along the Trinity with water fronting the green. The tee shot must be long and straight, and anything too far right leaves a precarious second shot around the bend.
The back side is the more fun of the two, taking you through good combinations of holes that offer excellent birdie opportunities if you’re on your game. You'll need those birds when you come down the home stretch.

Riverside never lets you down.
It's always a great day playing riverside! Cooler and ice they provide is a great touch.
Nice day for golf
This is a great bargain through GolfNow. The course is in good condition and the pace of play was just fine, no issues.
First time in years
I used to play Riverside quite a bit years ago and returned with out-of-town guest. It was in very good shape for all the rain we've had this year. Greens were in excellent shape. It was always one of my favorite courses on this side of DFW. The pace of play was horrible, though. VERY slow group of four in front of us which was adamantly opposed to letting my twosome play through, and there were no course marshals to be found. The GPS system was off on pin placements on virtually every hole, too. Playing to what you think is a front pin on a green that's 60 feet deep when the pin is actually back is not a good thing.
Tough But Fair
Tough but short layout from the white tees. Very tough from the tips. Avoid the bunkers unless you like fried eggs. Bring an extra sleeve (lots of water and the Trinity River is on your left for few holes). Shot placement is key to a good round. Have fun!
Great course and staff
Awesome course, tough at times when the wind is up, but in great condition.
Staff is super friendly.... And eager to help....Their motto is "happy to do it", and they live by that...
I love this place, it feels like home.
Great condition
The course is in great shape (perfect greens and fairways) and friendly staff. Enjoyed my round.
Riverside golf course
Riverside golf course is one of my favorite courses to play. It's a wide open course with great water hazards.
Still fun despite
The course has several interesting holes. It is a course that requires skill. Greens are still really grainy and the upkeep is lacking. Still, it is a fun course to play.
Playing Dallas hot day
Excellent course maintenances and friendly staff and
Hot midday's ready to go play.
Lots of water
Plenty of water to dodge, but ways to bail out. 18 is punitively hard, virtually impossible to par (for a hacker like me). I've played this course many times, and it's always a lot of fun.
Great value!
As members of a higher tier Club Corp course, my friends and I were having trouble locking down early morning tee times. We came across Riverchase and were able to get onto the course early enough on a Sunday as to not make the wives mad. The facilities/clubhouse are definitely not top tier, but inbelieve this is done intentionally, as their efforts are put into the track. We had a considerable amount of rain the night before and were "cart path only" for the first 8 holes. The fairways didn't seem to hold much water and the greens were in great condition. Be sure to pay attention to the GPS on the carts and TRUST them when planning your tee shots. I like playing a course that I'm forced to keep the driver in the bag on a winding par 4. Overall, the experience was definitely a pleasant one. As far as a muni goes, this is one of the better courses. Have fun and enjoy the challenge of the front 9.
Great Round
It was a great day for golf. The pace was very good and the course condition was very inviting!! My friend and I really enjoyed our round and we'll be back!
Good condition
Course in good condition. Very slow play in the middle of round.
