Riverside Golf Club

Decided to play this course since I am new to the area and it is close to my home. Played at 3:00 on a Monday. Started out as a single. Got behind a 4 some after three holes that would not let me through. Another single caught up to me and we paired up. We followed the foursome for another 5 holes and finally skipped a hole to get in front of them. At hole 14 got behind 2 fives somes and at this point just gave up and quit. Course was still in pretty rough shape with many bare spots especially around the greens.

Not blaming the course for the group not letting us play through, but two fivesomes back to back???

I have played this course numerous times, but upon hearing they had Golfboards, I felt the need to test them out. Had a bit of previous experience with them so was able to fill out liability form and be granted access. I believe I was the first to use one at Riverside so I thought I would write a review to encourage everyone to go give them a shot. Was an absolute blast! Paid only $10 additional for use. I will definitely be back soon.

Great course conditions for the value. Excellent pace of play and fun layout.

Course was in decent condition for the end of February but the pace of play, specifically the unwillingness of slower players to let our group play through, took some of the joy from the round. Waited on every shot for all 18 holes. There was no one in front of the four women for several holes but they would not let our threesome play through. Contacting the clubhouse was frustrating because they just sent a message through the gps system. No marshalls. Won't be going back anytime soon.

If you play conservative and don't try to cut corners you shouldn't lose a ball, I lost 6 today. Had before noon tee off and finished 3:30, good for a Saturday. Staff was excellent and saw food cart every 3 holes.

The guy who checked us in was kinda grumpy, certainly did not like his job, But I loved the course for what we paid. Lay out is great, greens were good. Sand had some rough patches and upkeep is minimal. But this was just a decent course that doesn't drain your pocketbook. I'll be back.

I needed to find a course with th ight rate and time this fit just right. playing from the middle tees it offers some good holes, just not my favorite place to play

Played Riverside a number of times. It is one of the best values in DFW. Number 18 into the south wind is one of the toughest holes around. Pace is generally good during the week. Teed off at 12:20 and played in a little less than 4 hours on a Friday.

Very challenging course along the Trinity River... well designed and very enjoyable. Look forward to my next round. Cost is reasonable.

Winter dead greens, but bumpy so really needed to be rolled!

No cart girl today, on a Friday afternoon. Course was not crowded but could not get any drink or beer at the turn ( beverage station was not opened).

Booked a 2:40 tee time on Golf Now for as many holes as I could get in. No one working the 1'st tee so no control over the tee and the groups or on the course. Result was a 2.5 hour front nine. I've experienced worse, but didn't really need to - just no one managing the course or the tee sheet. Fairways are dormant, but relatively bare. Greens are fast, but need to be rolled. Pin placements today were hard to get at. Cart GPS had not been updated for the pin placements. Sand traps were not raked at all. This is still a great layout, but I don't see that much of an effort to maintain what was once an awesome layout. Sad, but for $21.65, it's worth the money....I guess.

It was very windy but good day

A cold, blustery day for golf. I was one of the few brave souls who thought golf was a good idea. The course was in amazing shape! Tees, fairways and greens were fabulous. Bunkers could have used a little work, due to the recent rains, but overall I was very impressed. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and there were some good specials on clothing in the clubhouse. The grill was limited and the food selection was limited to hot dogs, chips and packaged snacks. Despite the weather, I had a wonderful day, and will be back soon!!

Very enjoyable course. Conditions were very wet from recent rains. It was cart trail only.

Unfortunately had hackers in front playing from tips naturally. Too slow to really enjoy or get into a groove. Will try again...

It's been at least a year since I last played Riverside. The course was in great shape, with smooth-rolling greens. The fairways were in good shape, but over-watered with soggy areas and standing water in some places. Riverside has greatly improved the sand bunkers. Before some of the bunkers were hard-packed dirt/sand, whereas now the bunkers are all sand. There were some holes with small piles of sand in the bunkers waiting to be spread.

Pace of play was good for about the first 5 holes, then we waited on every shot for the remainder of the round. Total time of play was about 4.5 hours, but it could have been 30 minutes less.

We saw the cart-girl 5 or 6 times during the round, which I considered often enough.

The gas-power carts are equipped with GPS which worked great for yardage. The cart did not have the small club/ball washer unit, which I think is a plus.

Overall, I was impressed with the course conditions, and seeing improvements being made. We will play Riverside again, soon.

I have been to this course years ago and it was a bit rough. It is much improved. Huge advantage to golf it a few times versus one time. Fairways are pretty nice and greens good. Strategy is important as positioning on the fairway helps a lot. You can lose balls easy if you start spraying your drives. Great course for the money.

The manager and Pro Jay is very friendly but one of his employee name Joe leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Joe is bad for business there. Due to his Demeanor, I cancelled my tee time right there on the spot. Don't love golf that much to endure joe's mis-handling.
