Muni Course, Muni Condition
Pretty much got what I paid for at Whittier. The conditions were so-so, pretty bumpy ride everywhere on the course which gives you an idea of the terrain (potholes, etc.). The grading aside, the course was green and in good shape and to me, that makes for a more enjoyable round than playing somewhere like Skylinks where it's a better track but completely dried out.
The course plays long from the blues but no forced carries and fairly wide open. Pace of play was good, we had a 5-some in front of us with some hackers that slowed us down and caused a 4.75hr round. The also stack them up on tee 1, we teed off almost 45 minutes late (some of that our fault). But the pace is good from tee 2 on.
Bottom-line, for the price, good course to have some beers and hang with your boys. If you're looking to really play a round of golf, kick up to the next price point.
horrible course
Extremely crowded small flat greens beat up fairways poor overall course conditions will never play there again I thought I was getting a good deal for the money but was wrong unfriendly environment to play in didn't enjoy the time to play that course would have liked a refund
slow..slow...slow
If u like a fast pace of play, avoid this course..they allow 5 sums, and had 2 groups always waiting to tee off... slow ..slow..slow.
need more information
When I got to the first green, I found out that course was just did the aerification 2 days ago. When I booked it didn't see that information and very disappointed. Golf Now should posted the information.
Good enough for enjoy your game
This wide opened course giving us fun all the time.
Course built looks like common but you need attention each hole.
More than half of 18 holes you still need skill your
game management.
If you make hook or slice shot, you can find out your ball but you will get interrupted by different type of trees.
Staffs here very kind with no doubt.
You lucky unless you meet slow players front of your some.
Anyway we would like to come play here whenever we want.
Definitely fine course for every level of golfers.
Whittier Narrows Review
The course is wide and long. Due to it's wide courses, it seems like an easy enough course. However, the greens are small and the way bunkers are set up, they give you challenges. Had a lot of fun here, and will come back in the short future.
Nice Course
This is a fairly nice flat course to play around the LA area, good value, greens were fairly maintained, typical 5-hour round on weekends...
long part 4s
The course fairway is in excellent condition. The par 4s are pretty long which means that you pretty much have to have your driver on. A big slice will be trouble. The only negative review I have will be the greens.the greens are pretty small in size.
great course.
Fairway is so goood to me.
I AM A HANDY 25.
I LIKE ALL COURSES.
try to play one or two times a week.
Typical decent course
Fairways are decent. Greens were small but in good condition.
Typical Municipal Course
Here's my impression of this course. Pace of play is slow because many golfers here aren't educated as to what things they do that slow things down. The fairways and tees are bumpy. The greens are nice and lush but there are too many unrepaired ball marks. The sand traps had real sand in them (not dirt) which is nice. There are plenty of mature trees. The food at the clubhouse was good also. I upgraded from playing 9 holes to 18
This course is near my home.
Club house's step were so nice to customer.they make me feel like at home. I can really enjoyed.
fairway is still poor....
Fairway needs to improve...lot of potholes , the green is good .
Nice course
The staff was GREAT! They let us on as a twosome. One course had two groups ahead so they let us go out on the other one and finished up on the one we were supposed to be on.....I like when the staff goes with what is best to move the golfers along. Great Job! Started at 12:07 and ended at 3:40pm.
quite OK for playing
It was quite good. The field was not like pristine but good enough for playing.
This course has great features
$30.00 is okay deal to play 18 holes but it took us 5 hours to finish it because the course is too crowded.
Great time playing here.
Been playing Whittier Narrows for over 2 years now. My friends and I always have a great time here. Great golf pace (3.5-4hr) rounds do to 3 nine hole courses. It's also well maintain. Fairways and greens are always trimmed and in fair conditions. We also enjoy the awesome deals. $30-$40 per round with cart is a great price. I've paid way more for way worst out there. So if you haven't played here. I recommend you do. You can't go wrong.
Very long round...
This course would be so much better if the pace of play could run at a decent rate. 5+ hours on a weekend, no matter what.
Nice greens horrible rough
Very nice greens.
Rough very challenging for public muni course.
My thoughts they don't want to spend the labor on cutting down
rough. Some areas of rough are unplayable for recreational players just wanting to go out and have fun. Not the US Open it's Rosemead... Hello? Spend the money on labor and time to cut down your rough.
