Stonetree Golf Club
About
Jay Riviere built this course in the 1970s to offer a non-military alternative for golf in Killeen. The conditions have improved since the updated irrigation system was installed in the 1990s, and the greens are known for consistently being in solid condition. The course has been renovated in 2005 by Lee Singletary. You’ll face a good combination of tee shots at this course, with both narrow and wide fairways.
Start off with some patience, if you can survive the more difficult front nine, you’ll be confident and in good position for a low round when you face the easier back nine.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take Hwy. 190 west and exit FM 2410. Turn right and look for Roy Reynolds Dr. Turn right again and look for the course on the left side of the road.

Greens
Everything was good, minus the greens. They had been recently punched and had way to much sand on them. Otherwise good course.
Good day playing with my son
For the time of the year, and ongoing drought in Texas, course was in pretty good shape. Son played from tips...I played a couple up from that. Good layout. Some very good, interesting holes. I would play it again.
Improving track
With the addition of fresh sand to the traps, the course is definitely on the rise. Still s little hard but it is early March. Can't wait until the spring brings fresh grass to the fairways.
Alright course
It’s a ok course. They spray painted the greens and fairway. So beware your ball will be green from the spray.
Good greens, cart paths for faurways
Had to fight to not have to pay again for the cart that was part of the reservation. The cart was terrible. Brake wouldn't lock the battery started dying by hole 12. No one would answer the phone when calling the club house. Had to push it the last hole and into the clubhouse. The fairways were hard packed with no grass. On a positive note the greens have recovered nicely as I heard they killed them a couple of years ago. I used to play this course every weekend. When it went under new management I stopped because of bad attitudes and poor management. It is a shame that it has been run into the ground.
Easy and Fun
Keep in mind I played this course in January so conditions were very average. However, def not as bad as previous reviews make it sound. Pretty easy course but def fun and good time if ur just looking for a good time with friends and/or family.
Vastly improved
The course has been renovayed and is in excellent shape. The greens are firm but ot consistent on speed. Also the bunkers could use more sand especially on the bottoms. If these were better I would have given it 5 stars. I would still recommend this course for all levels of play. Especially with the 8 tee box levels. Something for everyone of any age.
Wait til the greens and fairways are fixed
The course, on the internet, looks beautiful! However, they’re having to replace all the green, some of the fairways, and it’s hard to follow if you’re there for the first time. With that being said, when it is finished, I believe it will be a great course to play! Until then however, I would not recommend this course to anyone.

Under construction
I went on Golf Now and found Stone tree Golf Course. I made my reservation and was immediately charged. I called the course to make sure my reservation was on the tee sheet. The person I spoke to said the course was closed and I should talk to Golf Now about the charges. I called them and they called the course and told me in fact the course was open. Really? Ok but I was just told the course was closed. No they assured me it was open for play. We got to course....only the front 9 was somewhat playable. I say somewhat because the greens weren't the actual greens they were part of the fairway made into temporary greens. It was a swamp mostly. It was a joke! We spent $150.00 for 4 people to play on a cow pasture. We took guests to play not knowing the area and trusting Golf now for their help. I won't do that again!

Front nine Mudd
So it’s almost like playing two different courses. The front nine has serious drainage issue and crappy greens with hollow muddy bunkers. The back nine is completely different. Faster greens which are well taken care of and nice fairways. Go figure??? I guess it’s the nice houses on the back nine.
Pace was good but golf cart ran out ofjuice at the end.
