About
Jay Riviere built this course in the 1970s to offer a non-military alternative for golf in Killeen. The conditions have improved since the updated irrigation system was installed in the 1990s, and the greens are known for consistently being in solid condition. The course has been renovated in 2005 by Lee Singletary. You’ll face a good combination of tee shots at this course, with both narrow and wide fairways.
Start off with some patience, if you can survive the more difficult front nine, you’ll be confident and in good position for a low round when you face the easier back nine.
Getting there : From I-35 north, take Hwy. 190 west and exit FM 2410. Turn right and look for Roy Reynolds Dr. Turn right again and look for the course on the left side of the road.

Lots of green grass. Course great shape.
Greens were fast, pace of play good. Got in a 4 hour round on a Saturday. 👍
Always worth the $ but it’s SLOW.
Can always find a tee time, greens are solid every time and the range is good — love this course. Pace of play is always horrible though. Starter never sticks to the actual times, too many members and regulars just come and go. 5 1/2 hour round was rough.
If you’ve got some time it’s great bang for your buck.
Stone tree golf club on a Wednesday
The course has a few greens with bare spots of mud. I’m guessing that they were lost during the ice storm this year.
The second hole was fully closed from play. There were many fairways that needed grass cutting. The pace of play was great, because not many players were out. I lost about 4 golf balls just off of the fairway in the tall grass. If conditions improve I’ll be back to try playing again.
Friendly staff but the course needs regular maintenance
Friendly staff, but the course needs regular maintenance. The greens are not good and there is no sand in the sand traps. They are very unkept.

Greens and bunkers are in bad shape but course is green and fairways are nice
