About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Terrible Greens
The greens are not up to par for charging $60 on a round of golf.
worst course in area
From tee to green it is acceptable. Fare amount of grass and not too many bare spots. But the greens are atrocious. It actually looks like the maintenance crew is trying to ruin the greens. They don't look like they know what they are doing. Won't return until greens are remedied.
Windy Friday before the rain
It’s winter conditions at Lighthouse. That meant I had some amazingly long drives! Those are always fun. The greens are pretty good and I know they are working hard to bring them back. Only a couple are poor, but others are great except for the outside edges. I love the new sand in the bunkers and it looks like there are new golf carts ready to go. Improvements in many places. The staff is awesome. Love this course!
potential but greens are major obstacle
The course is fair from tee to green but greens are abysmal/atrocious. It actually looks like they are trying to kill the greens. The course is in need of professional greens keeping for this area of grounds maintenance. It appears as if they recognize there is a problem but their efforts are only making it worse. There is no satisfaction playing greens that are this bad.
Fairways
I've played this course numerous times and I continue to say "STOP cutting the fairways too short". You play the entire round on the dirt/ground. There is no grass beneath the ball. No need to have grass in fairways this short

Slow Pace
We had to stop after 13 holes because we were waiting on the tee boxes 15 minutes due to the course stacking tee times too close together and allowing 5 on the tee in front of us!
Perfect Day for golf!
Beautiful day on a beautiful course. Last day of 2023 and warm sunny and breezy. Was not too busy and as a solo golfer I was able to play with a wonderful father and daughter on the back nine. Always a warm and friendly staff and a challenging course. Recommend this course to everyone.

Mucho Better
All regular greens back in use. 3-4 are still a bit rough but puttable. Rest are fair-good. Fairways etc. still in great shape. I’m recommending to our group that plays all over to put this course back in the “rotation.”
The young fella taking care of the carts was very friendly.

Would play if close
Good course if you are close to. Not worth it to make a drive out there. Good value, fun layout and decent conditions, but not worth driving super far for.

Have not played since u raised rates and lost the greens
Just a shame you went from such a great course to mediocre at best. Can t get any of my many golfers to return.

i phoned to ask condition of greens and told they were good. i thought some of them were very poor especially around the edges of the greens. they were quite fast. i would not play again until greens are sorted out. delaware springs is nicer.
