About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Damage Greens
Greens are beat up......bad shape for money paid.
No notice or warning prior to registering play.
Awesome course!
Greens obviously took a hit from the freeze so they were a bit chewed. But still rolled great. Layout is really fun and different.it’s tight ,strategic and a little quirky on some holes. But loved what they did with the space. Definitely hard to know where to hit your first time out there. But really fun. Truly magical with all the blue bonnets out lining the fairways. They do let out large groups though. 7 person bachelor party we saw at 8 when we were putting at 2 ended up being stuck behind them at 17 and 18 somehow. Must have been over 7 hour round for them lol. 6some behind us but were local and all had their own carts. They were just as quick as the 3 of us so not bad. Looks like slow groups let everyone play through. Staff was awesome. Range was decent was really happy to see it was matless . Cant wait to go back when the greens get nicer. Definitely bring a range finder. The par 5 surrounded by red rocks and blue bonnets truly felt like a dream

Great Track for the $$
Great course for the $$, pace of play during the week is perfect, 3 hrs.
The greens are stupid fast, no overseeding here.

Seen better days
Unfortunately the greens are in terrible shape. Ive seen this course in fantastic shape but it will take a while to recover. The pace was 5 hours plus.

Good value for your money
Played in February- friendly staff, gas powered golf carts, fun layout - lots of water and sand. Greens in good shape - hard
Pace of play was good - if you are looking for a fun 3:30 hr course - Lighthouse delivers

Great layout
Have played this course for years! Wonderful location and layout! Seems to always be improving! Was an unusually quiet Saturday! Last time we played the place was crawling with players! This trip was pretty much the opposite. Maybe the $50 rate was a stretch for this type of course amenities. We have enjoyed it for much less but pretty much everything else in the world has gone up so why not tee times at Lighthouse. We will return!

Nice course but desperately needs water.
Sadly, this course is suffering due to lack of water. Greens are so fast as to be extremely difficult. Dead patches in fairways and on tee boxes, too. Pray for rain.

Great Layout, Poor Course Conditions
3rd time playing this course and all 3 times have the same issues:
Positives - course layout is great, views of Round Mountain and course topography excellent, staff was welcoming and friendly
Negatives - Hard as asphalt greens, no grass in fairways...well dead grass...everywhere, no cart paths to speak of creates bumpy ride, unkept tee boxes (seems the answer is just throw more sand down)
With such an awesome layout would help if the course experienced regular general maintenance and some watering every now and then.

Good golf and good staff
Accommodating staff that started us on the back nine to avoid crowds on the front nine. We played a 3-hour round.
Always a good challenge and great shape.
They have only partial paved paths, but not that important for me.

Beautiful and challenging
Another great afternoon at Lighthouse. The people are so friendly and Groundskeeper Zach tracked me down to return my cell phone! What a lifesaver! I was able to start on 10 and avoid some foursomes and had the course to myself! Fantastic bang for your buck!
