Lighthouse Country Club

Course was in very good shape for as little rain as we have had. Greens were a little bumpy. Looked like they had been punched a couple of weeks ago.

Will definitely play again.

Course was in great shape. Greens were a bit bumpy but bet they’ll be great in another week or so. Course of play was fantastic - we finished in about 4 hours. Wish this course was closer and I’d be playing here a lot more.

Lighthouse is an excellent Hill Country golf course. Beautiful layout - water & sand to challenge shots, dog-leg holes to challenge the golfer and Doug in the pro shop is very professional, friendly and most helpful.

Strongly recommend this course. Currently the greens have been punched and have some sand on them however they still seem to run pretty straight. Also, driving range is under repair so in warm-up you can use only 8-9-PW on the range however fairly soon the range will be back to full operations. Fun course.

Plays so nicely - greens in good shape. Course is really coming alive and with the challenges of water and sand it's a fun course. Reworking a few tee-boxes which will only help improve the course which is already so enjoyable to play. Doug was very professional and helpful. Great course to play and I strongly recommend it.

Tee boxes in pretty bad shape. This course continues to cut fairways too short. If you’re in the fairway your hitting off little to no grass. Greens in excellent shape!

Excellent in every category! Especially the golf course. The course is always watered to perfection! Never too hard and dry and never too wet. Excellent playing conditions.

Fun to play. Nice layout with some challenging holes and some short par 3’s that require finesse. Excellent staff. Greens in very good shape and will only get better with warmer weather. Highly recommend.

This had to be my 6th or 7th time playing out here at Lighthouse through the years. The course does have a fantastic layout, especially green design, but this does no good when the greens are like being in a Rock Quarry. Additionally, what kind of course sends a marshal around an hour before sunset to tell people “it’s time to leave?” Who does that? On the first day of daylight savings, you’d think there would be a little more awareness. Serious high level amateur’s don’t waste your time.

Always enjoy the course layout … greens are fast. Pretty good shape considering the lack of rain in the Texas Hill Country. Fun winter golf outing…

Got behind a Fivesome who wouldn’t let the twosome in front of us through. 5 hour round, long wait on every shot. Not sure why the course would allow that. No marshall. Have always liked the course and staff but not sure I’ll go back if they allow this.

One of my favorite hill country courses—interesting layout, some challenging holes, very fast greens.

The fairways were hard - almost hardpan and the greens are amazingly fast -really too fast. Probably has to do with the time of year. I still like it though and it’s a GREAT value. Friendly staff as well. Will always come back here!

This course is great, the club house staff are really personable and easy to deal with. This is my favorite course for many reasons as stated above. I have to mention to that the maintenance staff of 3 people this time of year absolutely is the best. I have no idea how they get done what is required on this course, but they do. So I recommend folks to acknowledge this if they feel the same as I do to the management.

Secondly, the people that run the MGA and tourneys on tuesday and thursday and friday do a great job. You will not find a better group of men and women to play golf with at the course.

Been playing this course for years! Used to be just a pasture. It was greatly improved with new ownership years ago. However, it has gone unloved for awhile. Right now tee boxes are awful. Keep piling up sand but never change location. Like hitting from a trap on some holes. There needs to be some updates to cart paths as well. Made some improvements years ago, but stopped. Lots of dirt paths that hold water. Last issue is the rough. It has gone wild and not much actual rough buffer before you in really trashy deep stuff. Forget the traps that are full of gravel and hard as a rock.

Now, my comments are intended in a constructive way as I will continue to play here due to location. If properly maintained, this could be a showcase course, it is a beautiful course with all kinds of nuances to make it memorable.

Being in Kingsland, it needs to return the restaurant. It was quite good before. If needed, raise prices to cover the cost of making your profit.
