About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Fairways are well kept, but the greens are incredible. Greens are quick, but true. Plus, they hold shots well.
A few tee boxes could use some TLC, but overall this is a great experience.

Conditions are not excellent as prior reviews saud
I had heard the conditions were not great, but recent reviews indicated they were excellent, so I went. While not bad for the drought conditions, it's only average. There are lots of weeds on the tees and encroaching on some greens. The one bunker I hit out of was rock hard. It was worth the discounted price, but don't go expecting excellence.

Great for the money
Love the course layout and the price we pay. Everyone is friendly! Pro shop is looking better than ever. We did have 6 people n front of us and the snack bar when we made the turn and one employee working the entire area. She was very sweet and working very hard but what a waste of time! Our round turned into a 5 hour round. That part was awful.

Excellent course conditions. Very nice layout with tough greens. Good value for money only negative is no beer cart.

Good Greens
The greens rolled smoothly and were fast. Lots of slope and angulation making the fairly easy course slightly challenging.

Best Greens in Austin
This course is in better shape than most I’ve played in Austin so far. For the value it’s makes Grey Rock looks like a cow field. It is a little outside the Austin area, but worth the drive. I’ll be playing there more and more.

Great hidden gem.
Course is fun and challenging. The layout takes full advantage of the terrain. The greens are always fast, rolling at about 13.

Good Course.
Course was in good Shape! greens really good. although marshal could do a better job, got stuck behind a very slow 4 some. waited at least 10 mins each hole. guys we're playing like they were for the PGA and camera crew we're on them. pace of play poor! no resturaunt or bar smh.. Id say delaware better.

Another fun day at Lighthouse
Arrived during a slight gap and was efficiently checked in and sent out. Our twosome caught up to others on the 8th hole and waited, but at the turn the large group let us play through and we finished the back 9 without any other delays. The course is in great condition and the greens are fast and true. Best bang for your buck!
