About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Very good confition
I would have rated the condition a 5 but the greens were sanded recently. That being said the greens were in great shape
Hot deal at Lighthouse
Fun day on a fun course. I signed up for a hot deal and it was HOT! The breeze kept it comfortable and the course has really greened up on the fairways and makes for better ball striking. Wonderful golf course!

Enjoyable couse
First time playing here. The course was in great condition. We just happened to play at a busy period that day. The deer walking around the course didn't mind sharing the place with us.

Outstanding Course - really beautiful
Doug, at the club house is excellent. Very professional and helpful which got the day started nicely. Golf course is nothing short of outstanding. Fairways are luscious and bunkers are smooth and greens are fast. Challenging and fun course to play. 18 holes of play goes by too quickly. One of our favorite courses to play.

In Great Condition
Greens were in great shape--fast but could still keep the ball on the green with iron shots. Fairways were green and well maintained. Tee boxes were a bit worn, but not horrible. Bunkers are granite sand but playable. Interesting course layout with topography, water hazards, bunkers, and trees (cedar and oak).

Course was in very good shape for as little rain as we have had. Greens were a little bumpy. Looked like they had been punched a couple of weeks ago.

Great course
Course was in great shape. Greens were a bit bumpy but bet they’ll be great in another week or so. Course of play was fantastic - we finished in about 4 hours. Wish this course was closer and I’d be playing here a lot more.

Outstanding golf course
Lighthouse is an excellent Hill Country golf course. Beautiful layout - water & sand to challenge shots, dog-leg holes to challenge the golfer and Doug in the pro shop is very professional, friendly and most helpful.
Strongly recommend this course. Currently the greens have been punched and have some sand on them however they still seem to run pretty straight. Also, driving range is under repair so in warm-up you can use only 8-9-PW on the range however fairly soon the range will be back to full operations. Fun course.

Excellent Course
Plays so nicely - greens in good shape. Course is really coming alive and with the challenges of water and sand it's a fun course. Reworking a few tee-boxes which will only help improve the course which is already so enjoyable to play. Doug was very professional and helpful. Great course to play and I strongly recommend it.

Course needs help
Tee boxes in pretty bad shape. This course continues to cut fairways too short. If you’re in the fairway your hitting off little to no grass. Greens in excellent shape!

Great shape!
Excellent in every category! Especially the golf course. The course is always watered to perfection! Never too hard and dry and never too wet. Excellent playing conditions.
Excellent Hill Country golf course
Fun to play. Nice layout with some challenging holes and some short par 3’s that require finesse. Excellent staff. Greens in very good shape and will only get better with warmer weather. Highly recommend.

Most disappointing experience I have had out here.
This had to be my 6th or 7th time playing out here at Lighthouse through the years. The course does have a fantastic layout, especially green design, but this does no good when the greens are like being in a Rock Quarry. Additionally, what kind of course sends a marshal around an hour before sunset to tell people “it’s time to leave?” Who does that? On the first day of daylight savings, you’d think there would be a little more awareness. Serious high level amateur’s don’t waste your time.

Bad experience
Got behind a Fivesome who wouldn’t let the twosome in front of us through. 5 hour round, long wait on every shot. Not sure why the course would allow that. No marshall. Have always liked the course and staff but not sure I’ll go back if they allow this.
