Lighthouse Country Club

Second time around this course, really didn't remember much since its been about 6 years since I played there. Course layout is good, not real tricky except for a couple of blind tee shots, other than those the course is right in front of you. Conditions good, fairways tight, not my favorite, greens fast and smooth, didn't hit a bunker shot but playing partners commented about the thin lies. Solid course, we drove 1.5 hours to play and was glad we did.

Tee boxes are hard as rocks. Need water on them to soften and grow grass. Also most tee boxes have crown on them - need to be flattened out. Fairways are cut to short. No grass because of mowers. Stop cutting to short. When hitting your ball the club head bounces.

Best course in greater Austin area for mid week play; affordable, friendly staff, course is well maintained year round.

I have been playing this course since 1978. I live one and a half hours away, I still drive down to play as much as I can. The course is in near perfect condition. However, some weeds are starting to grow on the tee boxes. More variety of holes of any course I play.

Overall the tee boxes fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Hard to not like the condition the course is in right now.

The Lighthouse Golf Course remains the gem of the Texas Hill Country. Rick and his staff do an excellent job of ensuring great course conditions and extremely beautiful greens. With the addition of Doug, the course will continue to always be perfect!!!!

FInally, they’ve stopped mowing the fairways so close. Today the ball actually sat up on grass. Before in hot weather the ball sat down on hard pan and the club face bounced off the ground and in wet weather the club face dug in and the ball contact was poor. The course was enjoyable today. Make this course feel like a resort course with your mowing.

The staff is always great and you can't find a course that's in any better condition. I will always have great memories of Lighthouse. I've been flirting with shooting my age for three years now. I finally did it today. The condition Lighthouse is in made it possible!

The course was in great shape, especially for August in Texas. Greens were rolling about 13 and fairways were in great shape. very fun and somewhat challenging course layout.

Excellent community golf course. Fun to play Highly recommend.

I played this course 2 years ago for the first time. I liked the layout, but the course conditions were less than ideal.

I played it again today (Aug. 6, 2021) and was very impressed with the conditions of the course.

The fairways were a consistent height and while the rough wasn't very deep, it was deep enough to make you have to focus on your shots if you had to play from out of it.

The greens really got my attention. They were a good speed and very true. If you get your putt online with the right speed, you'll make a ton of putts.

I will definitely make the hour drive out to Kingsland to play this course again.

I'd like to see the driving range improved and some more sand in the bunkers, but those are my only real complaints.

Played as a single on a Thursday afternoon TeeOff special rate. First time on the course, and found it interesting, but not too difficult for me (13 handicap) off middle tees. You don't have to be a big hitter, but accuracy counts as well as local knowledge. The pro shop gave me a course yardage book, and that helped, as there are some force carry, blind tee shot, and lay up holes that you need to play carefully. Greens were smallish, but were in good shape along with the bunkers and the fairways for the most part. The cart paths were dirt much of the way around, so not sure if that would be an issue after rains..

Perfect fairways. Great greens. Superb friendly staff!. Great value. Highly recommend
