Crystal Falls Golf Course
About
While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

11th Hole at Crystal Falls Golf Course, Leander TX Photo submitted by wshowers on 12/02/2012
Great course!
Played this course in 2024 and the course improved the tee box on several holes. There was maintenance personnel on one hole. Not sure what was being worked on. I saw places where the concrete golf cart was broken up. I know these are not golf related but it did impact the experience. Also, there is a food truck and it is overpriced and serves a hot dog hopefully was only two days old. Will say the Marshall was friendly and engaging. I am a beginner and will say the course is very challenging. And that makes it a course worth playing.
Awesome Course
I really enjoyed this course and especially since the course offers a hero/first responder discount. The staff is excellent and the course conditions and amenities are great. I'd be happy to return any time.
I was rather disappointed the snack shop is currently closed due to renovations but I look forward to future rounds once complete.
The golf carts offer GPS positioning for the course and bluetooth to allow you to connect your phone which I thought was great.
Overall great course and I'd be happy to return any time.
A Fun & Challenging Canyon Course
Crystal Falls is a unique course. It is my favorite course when I'm feeling like a challenge. I'm a 25+ handicap with a bad back. I almost always play the front 9 holes and tap out after that. I always take a dozen extra balls with me so that I can enjoy the beauty of the course without worrying about my score or ball hunting. I always do much better after I've played a few times so that I know where not to hit the ball.
Crystal Falls review
Course is getting much better through the years.Good to see them remodeling the kitchen area included is a bar. Shape of the course was good people just need to fix their divots and ball marks.
1st Time Played
The course was challenging!! Lots of elevation change. Can't wait to play again as I now know the layout better.
Cart GPS was fair. The flyover was helpful but ended up trusting Golf Logix on my phone for distance.
Staff was EXCELLENT.
No Food as the grill was being remodeled. I wish they had notified us prior to showing up of the situation.
Good round
Crystal Falls is a scenic golf course offering a challenging set of 18 holes. It seems like the course over seeded for the dry season which is totally fair, but made the pace of play slow considering the golf carts couldn’t drive on 90% of the fairways.
Greens need some work and golf etiquette needs to be emphasized here. No one repaired their divots, but the greens rolled FAST!
If I could change a few things, I would increase the tee time blocks between players by 7 minutes or so. I would also love to see a discount offered for the course conditions.
Leander’s Golf Gem
A course you should absolutely try when you’re in the Austin area! This is my home course and truly one of my favorites. Great staff, awesome layout, and a really fun design to play for all skill levels. Great driving range and practice greens on either side of the clubhouse. Have been coming here for a year now and will happily continue to!
