Originally opened in 1938 as a nine-hole course, Landa Park Golf Course has since expanded by 52 acres in 1969 to make it an 18-hole course. Although it is on the shorter side, the golf course is still entertaining for golfers of all skill levels. Bordering the Comal River, there are some water hazards coming into play on the course. The fairways are wide and there are not many difficult approach shots, making it a more player-friendly golf course. Landa Park Golf Course features small, undulating greens and there are mature trees lining the fairways. Although it is fairly forgiving, Landa Park does have some challenges, including the lengthy par-5 fourth hole that stretches over 550 yards.

Awful Conditions and No Starter

I've played Landa before and it is usually in really good shape (at least for the money).

This round was totally awful. Greens were destroyed and tee boxes aren't any better.

Pace of play was unbearable, and to boot, we had people coming up to the first tee where me and my son were trying to tee off and quizzing us about our tee time. We had a 4:50 tee time and were standing on the tee at 4:49. People were showing up from the parking lot who had tee times 20 minutes earlier than ours and said "sorry we're late" can we jump in front of you since we have an earlier time. If I didn't have my son with me, I'd have been raising cane (or worse). However, in keeping with the grace I'm trying to instill in our youth, I let it slide.

I won't be back.

Great Deal!

This course meets all of the requirements:

1. Awesome layout; makes you use each club depending on where you play from. (I play from the tips).

2. Greens run at approximately 9 or 10 on the "Stent" meter..., they roll "true" (absent ball marks of course).

3. Nice scenery everywhere you look...

4. Not terribly busy.

5. And..., it's the RIGHT PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!

It's only 25 minutes heading North, towards Austin from San Antonio and it's worth every penny!

Landa Park is the best kept public course in the San Antonio/New Braunfels region. We play there at least twice a month, even though we live in San Antonio. The greens were smooth and fast and the fairways had grass.

The course is fine but was very crowded and play extremely slow. My wife and I paid for 18 but gave up

after 9 which took almost 3 hours to play.
