About
Originally opened in 1938 as a nine-hole course, Landa Park Golf Course has since expanded by 52 acres in 1969 to make it an 18-hole course. Although it is on the shorter side, the golf course is still entertaining for golfers of all skill levels. Bordering the Comal River, there are some water hazards coming into play on the course. The fairways are wide and there are not many difficult approach shots, making it a more player-friendly golf course. Landa Park Golf Course features small, undulating greens and there are mature trees lining the fairways. Although it is fairly forgiving, Landa Park does have some challenges, including the lengthy par-5 fourth hole that stretches over 550 yards.

Disappointed
I was really looking forward to playing at Landa today. Got lucky on Sunday night and was able to get a "hot deal" for 1 player. This course is usually booked solid.
The 1st guy that waited on me at the counter was decent enough, but his counterpart was a real jerk when he informed me that I could not play by myself, but had to play with another group because they were "too busy". I was OK with that, and went over to the batting cage to warm up and wait my turn to tee up, thinking I would at least be introduced by the management since I was not a regular.
I was waiting by the #1 tee box, at least 10 minutes before my time when this guy came out and said I had missed my group and that if I still wanted to play I needed to catch up to them or leave and/or wait several hours before I could play. That really teed me off, but I went on and caught up with the group I was supposed to be with. Played 9 holes instead of the 18 I came for and left.
You guys should really decide if you want to be a public golf course that is run by the parks department or maybe you should just go private so the rest of you uppity clowns can play the way you want to.
You also should be really careful on who you disappoint, as you may run across someone who could buy the entire course with nothing more than a second thought...
You can substitute (jerk) (teed) (clowns) and (disappoint) with the appropriate, inappropriate words.
Very nice course

Great course conditions
Most courses in the area are in good shape, due to recent rains, but Landa is looking really good. The greens were a little bumpy after having been punched the prior week, but still rolled well, and were very receptive to approach shots. The pace is always a little slow at Landa, but today round was not too bad, given that it was a Sunday.

Landa Park - Best Public Course around
This morning I played with my friend and two Landa Park regulars joined us. We played in a little over 3 hours. The course conditions were great and the pace of play was good for a foursome. We enjoyed today's round. I am never disappointed when playing at Landa Park. It is the best municipal course in South Central Texas.

Clubhouse Staff Top Notch
Lost my receipt from counter (which had staffers name). Checked in at 1:50pm Jul 16th 2021. Prepaid for a twosome, 3rd player had internet problems which didn’t permit him to reserve same time as us. Explained our situation to front desk staffer. He went beyond the call, to fit us all In together. Really great customer service, being that we had driven up from San Antonio. Course in Great Shape Tee to Green!

Best municipal course in the hill country
This is my home course. It is in excellent shape. I have played almost every municipal course in the hill country and Landa beats them all, hands down.

Pace of play
Never saw a marshal on the course. Had a group of 5 in front of us. Slow as molasses. Took 5 additional holes after we caught up to them til they let us play through. Need some help from the marshals as this was not the first time I’ve come across this issue.
