Iron Horse Golf Course

The Good:
- GPS in cart which will disable forward motion if you get too close to the flag.
- overall condition of course.

The Challenges:
- Our main complaint about this course was the lack of signs directing you from hole to hole especially hole 1-2 and 12-16. Granted the cart had GPS but physical signs would be more helpful.
- Greens were inconsistent from hole to hole and we found them difficult to read.

Course is good condition but surprisingly starting to dry out. The fairways are starting to get thin and greens are hard with a lot of run out. Play the green short to get the roll to the hole, even if you bring it in high you get a lot of roll.

Course in good shape considering the past weather. Greens were just freshly sanded so VERY slow. They did roll true and hold shots though. Very much a thinking course or good course management as driver used very seldom.

Played the course on a Friday evening. Booked as a single but was paired up with Gary and Bud who were two members and great company.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Course was in great condition considering the recent bad weather in the DFW area.
Only complaint was the pace of play which was over 5 hours for 18 holes. However, the great company compensated for this.

Great layout. Greens are a little hard and don't always hold shots well. It's definitely a course for the shot maker, not the long hitter.

Course is ok but if they would take care of the outer parts of the fairways could be a beautiful area. Has some trees and water but the biggest issue is some of the holes play right on top of each other, too congested on the back 9. I went to the course twice this week and the carts are in horrible shape. Oh my first visit the ebrake didn't work so the cart would just roll where it wanted. You would think they would do a little better at a 4-star course.

It was very wet because of heavy rain the night before bot overall it played OK. The greens had kept some firmness and for the most part they ran true.
Some holes are tricky and narrow, and off the white you hit a lot of irons. The green tees offer a good challenge.
All in all a good day out.

Green's were in the worst shape I've seen them. Still the course is above a lot of higher dollar courses.

it seems that whoever they have cutting the holes in needs some more practice!! There are precious holes that look like a grade schooler cut and replaced the hole! Crowned, volcaned and a lot of the replaced holes that are way under the level of the green! That is sad because this has be a better than average track for the last few years! SAD................

Marshall made it undisirable, tournament was being played in afternoon and kept pushing us. Even thought from first tee there wasn't a group ahead of us. If wasn't for him, great round.

The only thing I did not like was that there needs to be more directions on the cart path. To many criss-cross paths and backtracks, not very flowing and easy to get turned around.

Went to scope it out for a tournament I was going to play there . The young man in the pro shop went through the motions, but left me feeling he could have cared less that I was there. the course was fun and the players I ran into were all very nice. Good pace of play. Grill was good and realy enjoyed the hot dog. Good staff both in the grill and on the course.

Good course fast greens nice facilities not to many people fast pace

Short Course by yardage, the challenge is positioning the ball for the best chance at a birdie.

If you are long driver, like 4 handicap or better can really drive it 280+ then 3 wood and hybrid off the tee is a must, for the rest driver is fine :) just hit it straight!

Over-seeded fairways were great, GPS to green front and back was good, PIN was off a few times by as many as 5 yards which is enough for this 7 handicap to switch clubs, ended up using my range finder for pin distance and the green-view to make sure I didn't undershoot or overshoot the green

It was ok. They kind of rush you thru the course and make you pair up. I went out there with a beginner player and he felt super rushed and didn't get a chance to learn.

If you want a real test of your golf skills, this is your course. The course was in very nice condition, especially given the time of year. Lots of doglegs, fast, tricky greens and where good shot making is at a premium. Got a good deal on golfnow and will definitely play here again.

You need to manage the players.
At that time some ineffectual players played on the back tee and made games delayed.
Additionally, they hit the golf balls of more than two several times while next players were waiting.
However, fairways were in great shape and condition.

It was slightly cool and windy, but the staff was very friendly. Course was in great shape, snack carts made it out a little earlier than other courses. Very pleased with this course

Fairways were in great shape for this time of year, greens moderately fast, nice challenging course
