Iron Horse Golf Course

WE HAD GREAT DAY OF GOLF, UNTIL CORSE MARSHALL PULLED UP AND TOLD US TO SPEED UP. THE COURSE WAS NOT FULL OF PEOPLE IT WAS A VERY LIGHT DAY. TO RUSH PEOPLE AROUND A COURSE THAT WAS EMPTY IS BAD JUST BECUSE SOME PEOPLE ARE FASTER THAN OTHER DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE PLAYING TO SLOW, I HAVE BEEN OUT THERE BY MY SELF AND THE MARSHALL WATED BE TO SKIP HOLES TO GET AHEAD OF A FOURSOME. I WAS IN NO RUSH AND NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. I UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR READY GOLF BUT TO RUSH PEOPLE ON A SLOW COURSE IS NOT NEEDED. THAT IS WHY I GOLF DURING THE WEEK SO I CAN WORK ON MY GAME AND NOT BE PRESSURED BY MARSHALLS AND HOLDING UP OTHER PEOPLE. I LOVE THIS COURSE AND WILL STILL KEEP PLAYING IT. BUT WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ENJOY OUR TIME ON THE COURSE.

In good shape again. Looking forward to the completed construction on #11.
Used to play this course more often, but the overall condition deteriorated over the years. Played for $29 at 3:00 pm and was finished and in the club house at 7:00 pm. This course is back and in very good condition overall ! Fairways are plush and the greens receive a well struck shot. Greens roll nice.

I played first out. .. finished in under 2.5 hours. .. greens were great. . Well maintained. Fairways really nice. .. grass qualityis top notch hitting off fairways feels the way you would hope...

Growing in quite nicely; greens in good shape. A little wet in a few places. Has a good variety of holes with some quite challenging. By #7, we had caught up to the 3-some that teed of 3 tee times in front of us; marshal did not get them to catch up the several holes in front of them or to let our 3-some through. Enjoyable but slow.

We are from out of town and any time we visit Ft Worth, we always make sure to book a tee time here, it's one of our favorite courses!

Iron Horse offers a lush, green environment with great water features and stratigiclly placed bunkers that make this course very challenging. Pace of play is good and helped out by the GPS and score card kept on screen on each cart. You can expect to be hitting from great grass most of the time with only a few areas needing repair. If you haven't had the chance to play a Iron horse get out and give it a shot, you won't regret it!

Loved the course layout, the smart carts, the prices of food, drink, pro shop and green fees! Really enjoyed myself. Normally do not play as a single but on this beautiful spring morning I had the course to myself and had a blast discovering this mature and shot placement course. Lots of risk and reward on this one. Highly recommend it.

Nice course, fairways in good shape, greens almost in but still hold if you play some roll. Windy so we had to think your way around the course. I would suggest everyone use golf now hto deals and play this course. You will make it one of your regular rotation.

Would be much better if people playing use more sand to repair.

It was my first time there and I really enjoyed it. Challenging, scenic course with amazing greens! They were quick and green, just like I like them. Carts have gps, club cleaner and ball cleaner on them, which is very handy. This course is all about shot placement. Great course!

Great layout with great conditions! Tough, but fun!

Pace of play was great because Iron Horse has a hands on approach and actually manages the pace unlike Fossil who has a hands off approach. Course is good condition and plenty of beverage carts and great customer service.

Despite the poor weather conditions, I had a fun time on this well designed course! Staff was friendly, course was in fairly good shape and greens rolled well. I hate to be above the hole on some of the greens when they are running really fast, especially 7 and 10 . I will definitely try to play it again the next time I am in town.

Awesome course for the price and the conditions was excellent. The layouts was wonderful for any tenure golfers like myself.. Not a beginners course .. But it's worth the ride if you're and out of towner play for the first time also..

just now writing this as i just played it last week. SO far as of March 2014, it is by far the nicest and most well kept course in DFW (besides Texas Star)….lush green fairways, nice (getting better) greens, excellent range, and good/friendly staff. If you can score a deal on GN, then its a must. Leave your driver at home as this course will test your will for pin point shots.

Set-up for your 2nd shots on this course and you will do fine.

The condition and play of this course is well average in this price range. Fairways and greens are coming in nicely and looking very green. Some tee boxes are uneven and need work but overall pretty good.
No food at the turn during weekday but cart gal was very accommodating.
New GPS carts are nice, but have the annoying reverse-in-your-tracks feature if you venture off approved cart area. Carts also have automatic governor the slow it to a crawl in several sections of the cart-path.

First round of the year was made enjoyable by this challenging and fun course. I would recommend Iron Horse to my friends.

The young man who checked me in was courteous and advised me i would be called prior to my tee time. However, when the time arrived i had to go back into the clubhouse to check if i could proceed to the first tee. He claimed that he had announced my name, but that was a lie as i wasn't more than 75 feet from the clubhouse and no announcement had been made. He should have owned it and acted more of a professional.

Amazing course in great shape. They overseed so that the fairways and greens are still green in winter. The course is very challenging. One of the hardest I have played. I usually shoot in the 90's and hit a 105 yesterday while probably shooting the best I ever have. Over all I recommend it but be prepared for a difficult course.
