Hole 13.. What a view from the Tee... Photo submitted by KBarker on 09/29/2013
Challenging course which rewards accuracy.
This course is a beautiful setting. The volunteers and people in the pro shop are excellent. All in all this was a great golfing experience.
Great Course... except
Except the greens were fuzzy and so slow they were difficult to putt. Would guess around 4 on the Stimpmeter. Three of our foursome declared "never again," though I'll surely jump at the chance to revisit. Hopefully, the greens will be in better shape when I do.
Another Great round!
Once again Eagle Ridge provided prolific challenges that any golfer could appreciate! Always fun time! Looking forward to the next opportunity to play "The Eagle"!
Challenging course
The fairways were all in great condition. This course is what we call target golf. They give you a cheat sheet at the pro shop to tell you the best place to hit your ball so you have a second shot. The greens looked great, but they were long. Really needed to be mowed.
Great people
Guess greens were bad in Sept. They are great now. Can't beat the friendly people. From cart guy to other staff outstanding.
Terrible
The greens were aerated a week prior only the greens keeper used a chemical that ruined the tee boxes and greens. Totally unplayable conditions due to mud and fungus. I've played many times in the past here because of its unique layout, beauty and elevation changes but this will be my last time here again. The course is suffering obviously by the upkeep or lack of. Concrete cart paths are seperating and crumbling plus the run down carts are dangerous. With severe elevation changes and slippery slopes, its only a matter of time when another horrible accident will occur here again. After the round was mercifully over, I was rudely treated after complaining about the course conditions by the starter telling me " if you don't like it, don't come back". What ever happened to the customer is always right? I won't be back again.
Horrible Tees and Greens
Tees and greens are awful right now. The greens are nearly unputtable. Fairways are good, full and need a cut but good when compared to the rest of the course. No warning was given re the course conditions when I booked the round. Nothing from golf now and nothing from the course. Pathetic.
Best course ever!
This course has amazing views great layout super challenging not for a golfer looking for a serious score hard!!!! But amazing
Blind Shot haven.
The course is extremely challenging, you need to play 2-3 times to understand the blind shots. Good shots can lead to penalty shots unless you know the lay out. The course was in really good shape and it was fun to play. Course knowledge is so important, good tee selection. Very scenic. 6 difficult holes, 6 easy holes and 6 very fair holes. Makes for a great day of golf.
What a DEAL!
Paid 10$ to play a course worth 45. Even after torrential rains it was in fantastic shape! Love this course!
Not for beginners!
Very large changes in elevation and shots must be placed in choice spots to play at a par level. Lots of uphill-downhill. Ruff is thick and not able to see the ball in many areas of it. Fairways slope in all directions and rolling off after a well hit drive is highly possible. Greens were on the slow side from several days of rain but I have seen them fast in dry weather.
Fun Course
The layout is fun but don't miss the fairway because it's gone if you do. If you're hitting the ball straight, you will have a ball!
Always fun
Course in great shape for mid March. Even if you play bad the scenery is always perfect!
Tough Couse in the Mountains
Fairways were in great shape. Tees and greens appear to be recovering from fungus. Greens were not bad just had some dead spots. As far as layout, it is awesome. Forces carries over ravines on nearly every hole - and I mean deep ravines. Bring Extra balls. Takes 5-6 hours to play just because of layout. Great course.
Must play state park course
If a challenging mountain course is what you want..... go no further. ..elevation changes and tight fairways...one of the tuffest par 5s iv ever played [ #4].. but hole #14 is worth the price of admission! Short par 4 with a dramatic view...have fun and make sure you follow the tip sheet provided at the pro shop.
You'll see more DEER than PARS!!
This is a gem of a golf course hidden in the hills of nowhere! The staff is extremely friendly and I played late afternoon and was the only person on the course! I drove 3 hours, got out of the car and went right off… don't do that! You DO need to hit some range balls… make sure you have your control down and don't be too proud to put the driver away early! Very scenic course… lots of memorable holes… and a really high score! Worth finding if you're in the area.
Bring your "A" game, extra balls...and a camera!
At first glance, a tipped 6630 yard golf course with plenty of elevation changes would appear like a pushover....THAT is definitely not the case at this track! As is always a caveat, if you keep it in the fairway the course is very playable and quite fun. However, if you fail to accurately execute the proper shot, your day will be spent looking for balls in a myriad of nearly inaccessible places! That being said, the golf course is in reasonably good condition with new well groomed Bermuda fairways, good tees and undulating greens (the day we played they rolled about 9 on the Stimp). The tees, greens and rough have suffered the drought and hot temps this summer and have a fair amount of issues but the course remains playable and if nothing else, very picturesque. For one to fully appreciate Eagle Ridge you will need to play it several times as there are a fair amount of shots that require prior course knowledge to accurately navigate some of the holes. The staff is always friendly and seem genuinely happy to see players as the course is a little off the beaten path and downright scary to a high handicapper! It is worth the price of admission to go partake in the sheer beauty of this layout...but don't expect to set a course record your first time around...unless that record is for the number of balls that managed to disappear from your bag!
Fantastic as Always!
Eagle Ridge is my home course, but I think anyone who comes to play will agree how beautiful and fun it is to play. There is nothing like a good challenge while having a great time, so Smart golf is going to be the way to go here. The Staff, as always, is extremely nice and courteous as expected. My advice to everyone is play Eagle Ridge as much as possible and have fun!
How good do you think you are?
Love this course and the staff is super nice. Played it three times in one week and will go back every chance I get. Best course in area by far. If you don't see many cars in the parking lot it's because it's tough!! It will make a golfer out of you! Maybe! Want a challenge then here you go. Tip: layup and hit driver three times or zero! 13th hole is great hit from number 2 tee box even if your playing from the others and if nobody is behind you hit a couple for fun!
Wow!
Awesome course that everyone should play. Course was cart path only the day we played and it took us nearly five hours to finish. This course requires shot making, it is not grip and rip. Elevation changes make it difficult to get yardage right. The course was in overall great condition. Take plenty of balls and make sure the camera battery is charges. This is a truly unique experience you should treat yourself to. Don't get disappointed at your play, you won't play well your first time there.
