A windy day
I ended playing on my own here as the other chaps didn’t turn up for the tee time. It was a dry sunny day but blowing up a hooley. It made a long course longer with most holes either straight down or straight into wind. You need your driver to work but there’s plenty of room on most holes.
Early in the season and some of the fairway was a bit bare in places but the greens were good if a bit woolly but any shorter on such a windy day would be tricky.
Overall a decent course offering a good challenge but it needs its water hazards to hold water and its bunkers to hold sand.
Great beginners course
Had a lovely round with a very good golfer. Still learning the game and Addlethoroe is ideal for the beginner as the fairways are wide and there are few hazards although it’s a long course. Downside was the amount of daisies on the fairway making it difficult to locate your ball at times, in fact we lost two balls on the fairway !
Had a lovely lunch in the clubhouse where the staff were very polite.
Big plus is the cost of a round and for the price it’s a little gem of a club
Excellent value
The course is in good condition and excellent value for the money.
October
Good layout but a bit wet where buggies have been. Sometimes end up following inexperienced golfers who play slowly and do not know golf etiquette.
Grass needed cutting
Sanding all greens and the sweeping was to far behind at to putt on beaches 😡
Good for a Golf fix
Currently holidaying not far away and found this course on the Golf Now App! It’s great for a quick golf fix without anywhere to get in any real trouble and shoot a reasonably good score.
The 3rd and 9th are by far the best two holes.
Green were excellent, fairways were ok.
Overall, not the most difficult course, but good for a Golf fix whilst away.
Definitely worth a try
Friendly staff
Lovely course with some nice holes some of the greens are small and the 9th hole makes you think took away a brochure for the lodges as they looked great too only £18 which is cheaper than my local course and a better course too highly recommend playing here if your in the area
Addlethorpe
As I was holidaying in the area, this course was recommended so I went along to try it, on arriving ,1st impression the place looked impressive, once I started playing ,the pace was very slow, the fairways needed cutting as covered in daisy’s and the greens were slow and bobbly. This to me was a holiday resort course, as there lodges through the centre of it, it does have a good layout with some good holes and as the weather was good I stuck around and played the 9 holes twice.
Played it on 5th June and enjoyed it so much went back and played it on 7th. Good layout and in good condition.
Great little course.
A great little course. Freindly staff.. Good bssic food with good beerd.
great condition
Played here on Sunday morning and it was in excellent condition considering what weather we had, had breakfast and was 10 out of 10 and I will play here again.
First time round
Had a pleasant round of golf everyone was friendly and i will definitely be back for more rounds
good course
Enjoyed the course especially with 3 long par 5s. Very Unusual on a 9 hole course. 9th hole signature hole for me. 230 yard to water hazard, lay up to that. Pitching wedge to 2 tier green. Greens soft enough to hold 6 or 7 iron shots in from distance. Would benefit back 9 holes being cheaper price not full price.
Simple but challenging
Was pleased with my golf on what I would consider a long course. 3 long par 5s. 4 par 4s and 2 par 3s. Greens firm but soft enough to hold 7 and 6 iron shots in. 9th hole signiture hole for me with a 200 yard lay up short of the pond then a decent pw over to a two tier green. I'm a 14 handicap player and managed 39 shots 2 over par after missing a couple of simple puts. 1 hour 40 minutes for 9 holes 1 player. Think the price steep for 9 holes. A discount for back 9 would help and not full price.
