A Good Test In Good Condition
Used to play here when starting out about 7 years ago. Haven’t been back for a while but impressed with facilities and course in good condition. Always a good test with some tight tree lined holes. Keep it straight and you’ve got a chance. Very good value for money too, might cost you a few balls though if you get wayward! Will be back again soon!
Had a very enjoyable round with 3 other friends, course was in great nick, tight fairways on a lot of holes, plenty of ditches to be found but fair if you hit straight. Thought the greens were very good, very fast too.
I'd recommend playing here, course is great, staff polite and helpful, facilities really good too.
My only gripe was the price of the drinks, I know ale is priced differant all over the country but 24 quid for 4 pints, cmon.
Good but let down by...
Great course layout, tight and tricky. Many ponds. Seriously let down by the bunkers. Light dusting of sand over compacted mud the consistency of concrete. Brings down overall impressions of the course in general. Sort the bunkers, flatten out the tee boxes, a bit of flora planted and could be premium.
Very nice course for players wanting a challenge
Me and my group were extremely happy with our afternoon here; the staff were super friendly, the clubhouse well positioned to enable a quick break after the front 9 and we were able to happily to play at our own pace. As for the course...it was lovely, a wide variety of holes and lovely water features with wildlife throughout. The course is a real challenge though; those water features plus bunkers are well positioned and trees are everywhere making the course very tight in places. Overall we like mixing up where we play but Aldersey is definitely a course I'll be looking forward to playing again.
Nice - challenging
Lovely course. There have been reviews mentioning how wet it was but we didn’t have an issue with that. They’d cut the fairways recently and all always good for us.
It’s a challenging course for mid handicappers. You really need to be able to go a sensible distance and be consistently straight off the tee to make a score here. There are some long par 3’s too
Greens were in good condition.
The course has a nice layout and avoids the sun of golf course design, the straight up and straight back down again. None of that here, you cross-cross the Cheshire countryside.
We played Sunday so it was busy, a lot of waiting but to be expected really.
Overall, very nice course in lovely setting. Summer time course due to potential wet conditions but definable recommended.
Great course
Very friendly reception on arrival in the shop. Course didn't let itself down and was in great condition. Would recommend anyone to give this course a try as tight, challenging but every hole is different in layout and very scenic.

Excellent days golf at a friendly and challenging course in the hot weather of June.
Met by attentive and friendly staff on arrival and had coffees prior to a round with holes of varied difficulty narrowness and more forgiving with of fairways with undulation and greens in fantastic condition. Steady play with members in four balls allowing us to play ,through this was a very enjoyable day , good value and topped off with a cheeky pint at its conclusion. Will be back here at this memorable course in the not too distant future.
Excellent
Played a twilight round here on a Saturday. Pretty much had the course to ourselves. It’s in great condition and excellent value
Tough course, recovering from poor weather but enjoyable.
Aldersey Green was a challenge from start to finish, plenty of tight fairways and well placed hazards. If you can hit consistently straight then it's possible to score well but look out if you're wayward!
Most holes are a fair challenge, you are rewarded for good shots and punished for bad ones. The 2 long par 5's were particularly difficult, both long and the first required precision navigation around the several hazards!
Overall, definitely couldn't complain for the price, absolute bargain for such a mature course. The course condition was probably only 7/10 when I played, greens were patchy and variable in speed but there had been a lot of rain in the previous week!
Hidden Gem
Great friendly welcome on arrival, excellent practice facilities, the course is great,(still a little wet at present but where isn't) really tight in places so bring your A game, great mixture of holes, greens running well, can't wait to come back in a few months time
Friendly staff , tee time was 725 am , arrived walked straight on , loverly course , good test , will definitely be back,
Midweek round
Love this course. All the staff are the sort of people I’d like at my golf course. The course is a brilliant layout with lots of challenging but very pretty holes. We paid £20 to play and when you consider the fees at some of the courses close by this is a steal. Every course has had problems this winter and I know aldersley does struggle in the wet but the condition of the course is only going to get better. If they had more green staff working it would come along even quicker
I’ll definitely be back soon
Good day
Course I’m good condition considering recent weather some greens pitted in places others very good only disappointment club house wasn’t open when we arrived at 9am looking forward breakfast before playing
What a let down.
After reading so many good reviews. I was really looking forward to playing here.
Positives
- lady in the club shop was lovely and helpful.
- nets and practice putting area were good.
- challenging par 3’s. Most over 200 yards. Card wrecker if not played carefully.
- good mixture of par 3, 4 & 5 holes.
Negatives
- SLOWEST round of golf I’ve ever played in my life. It took two of us just under 5 hours to complete the round! Waiting 10-15 minutes to play each shot just isn’t acceptable on any course.
- constant annoying background music from a local fair. I believe someone else has mentioned this. Ray-Von didn’t
stop for the whole 5 hours of the round. Shabbbbba.
- soft, muddy fairways when we’ve had next to no rain for a week or two? I wouldn’t like to think what it’s like after a week of rain.
- patchy greens. Most looked like a practice area with replaced divot marks all over them.
Overall we were severely disappointed and unfortunately won’t be back. Nearly 5 hours to finish the round, a banging headache from Ray-Von and balls plugging when we’ve had decent weather just make me want to rush back.
Superb challenge
Great course in fantastic well kept condition. A good balance of challenge and every hole with something different to play rather than similar straight holes you can find at some other local courses. Some tight tee shots through tree lines, challenging water and green lies and a great approach shot at (I think) the 16th onto elevated green to test your strategy.
Clubhouse is good, decent selection of food and drink afterwards with outside balcony, lcoker rooms and cleaning equipment. All in all great value and one of the best in local area. Will definitely be coming back regularly

Great course. A test of golf for every level.
One of my favourites have played many times.
