Great course, great value.
Really fun little track and great design. The fairways were pretty hard and it made it a little difficult to take a divot but on the plus side your drives get tons of roll out in the fairways. Greens roll really well. They are surprisingly quick and somehow pretty soft at the same time.
The par 4 distances are a little repetitive, I felt like I hit 9 iron in on every hole except a few shorter par 4s.
Position is key on this course. You can hit a green and still have a 90 foot putt on some of the greens on the back nine.
Some of the best practice facilities around. FULL FLIGHT range balls are awesome and really well laid out range. Great short game area as well. They also have some first class instruction equipment. Guy hitting next to me on the range was taking a lesson on a Trackman.
Did Not Exceed Expectation
This was my first time playing this course and I had high expectation from passing by on the highway. The course was very green due to the recent rains, however there fairways and rough were not well kept. There were weeds on some of the fairways making it difficult to have a good lie. There were two greens under repair (which was not mentioned prior to booking the round) and one hole was literally a 10” diameter bucket. The other 16 greens were in relatively good shape but there were some weeds that can throw off your line. One good thing about this course is the amenities, specifically the practice facilities. They also have a fully stocked bar and snack shop at the turn to refill your coolers and a nice clubhouse with a full bar as well. In my opinion, this course is great for beginners looking for a cheap round, but if you’re a weekend warrior such as myself I spend the extra few dollars and playing another course.
Excellent bang for your buck
The Courses at Waters Creek didn't disappoint. The greens were smooth and fast. The fairways were in good condition. The only issue we encountered were two temporary greens on 16 and 17. I'll give them credit though because the temporary greens were better than any temporary greens I've seen. It's a fun course with a few challenging holes.
Best Course in the Area
I love this course. It's in peak condition, and value is second to none. They are even renovating a few holes, which tells me their commitment to making the course even better. They need to advertise the grill more, and make that a place I would want to eat breakfast in the morning.
Need 2 holes repaired.
Only problem I have with his golf course are the two holes on the back nine that have been under repair for at least two maybe three months I was very disappointed when I came back after playing my first time over a month ago to see ithe same two holes still under repair. It was very disappointing
Nicely designed course
The course has a very nice, varied layout. Lots of trees, water and doglegs. The greens are in great shape and the bunkers well groomed. I will gladly return here next time I'm in town. I played early morning weekdays, so cannot judge the pace of play at busier times.
Hard fairways
Fairways were very hard. Couldn't even take a divot. Nothing some water wouldn't fix. Also there were 2 greens on the back nine that were under tarps. Had to play temporary greens. We will play again in the near future and hope the conditions improve.
Glorified muni
This is a glorified muni with several greens and fairways under repair. Golf now deal was great but the pace of play was horrible and the fairways were average.
"A Nice Course Design"
The course was a nice challenge. The greens were recently punched and had a light layer of sand on the greens surface, but they still ran true. No Marshal in site, a group of ladies very slow held me up. After about 5 holes the finally let me play through. Then I ran into a group of walkers that totaled 6 on the greens. I never saw a course that allowed 6!players to play together that were walking. This messed up my game. I had to wait long periods between each shot. The time of play was at 12:30 pm.
The course has tight fairways.?? It was nice to be outside on a beautiful day.
great layout, fun and challenging course
really enjoyed my round out here. the facilities are great. awesome practice areas, a short course, a par 3 course, and a full course. pretty impressive.
forecast was for some afternoon rain, so that seemed to keep some people away. teed off at 10:30 , played as twosome, and barely saw other groups the whole day. i'm sure that's unusual.
the course was in great shape, especially for winter. the only down side was a complete temp green on 16 and a partial one on 17. neither of which really distracted too much from a great experience.
it's a fairly tight course with trouble around on nearly every hole. but each hole has unique challenges and you'll get to try a lot of different shots.
the greens rolled nicely and ran at a good pace. reads were pretty straightforward, so you get rewarded for hitting solid putts.
overall, i thought the course was a great value and the layout and condition are what i would expect at a much more expensive course. this place is absolutely worth a go.
Traditions course
Course is in superb shape for being January. Except for 2 greens that are under repair everything looks great. My only complaint is that a GPS unit in the cart would be nice. The course is well marked so making your way from hole to hole is not a problem. Always like playing here.
Jekyl & Hyde
I was pretty impressed with this course. A really good place for a 10-15 handicapper. Greens were in excellent shape for this early in the season. They have just enough slope to make them interesting & challenging. And they are of a good size. Fairways were a little thin and I found myself on some really thin grass on several holes. That should resolve in the next month. I hate bunkers, but these had good sand and I escaped all that I entered. Most holes have a bail out, although not that obvious on some holes, that I will pay more attention to on my next round. The front side has more elevation and extreme doglegs. Even a short driver of the ball like me, found club selection off the tee to be important. The scenery on the front nine was enjoyable. Not so much on the back nine. And by the way, the course is aptly named.
Half the course under water!
We had floods earlier in the week but they still let us walk the first 10 holes. Not bad considering we get a credit with GolfNow due to the issues at the course.
But you can tell the course is in great shape and will clean up quick. I will definitely be back.
Course is in nice condition
Course is in good condition. 6th hole is an interesting layout. This one will gobble up your ball if your not careful. First 2 times here I found the water after seemingly perfect drives. I laid way back this time and made it to green in two. I talked with the Marshall. On a weekend this hole will definitely slow down the pace. If your ball does find water the drop zone is i a great place. I like this place for an early morning tee off. Practice facility is great.
Great course for the money.
If you are looking for a place to practice, this is the best facility I've seen. Huge range with lots of greens and targets at a lot of different distances. There is a huge chipping green with multiple pin locations as well as two putting greens. The layout of the traditions course is awesome. I'm a 6 handicap and played the tips. Long par threes created a couple challenging shots. Greens were in great shape and after 3pm I played for 35 bucks. Place is a hidden gem for that price.
GOOD LAYOUT
A LITTLE ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES RIGHT NOW. GROUNDSKEEPER NEEDS TO WHIP IT INTO SHAPE!
Great course
This is a nice course to play. The course is in good condition for winter.
Great Golf Now Rate
Played with a foursome for a total of $54.00. Course in great shape. Staff always friendly
