Coarse good shape after weather
Coarse in good condition after all the bad weather, greens were in good shape rolling true. Great practice facility.
Good Challenge
Be ready for long carrys and ability to play a variety of shots.
Course has been remodeled.
The remodel improved the corse - it is fairly tight and requires you to drive it straight.
It is much more enjoyable to play now - much fairer.
I would play again even though the pace of play was very slow.
Good course
The course was very slow just due it being the first nice day in awhile
Teh Courses at Watter's Creek - Traditions
The Traditions Course at Watter's Creek is definitely a must play in the DFW Metroplex. It's a redesign of the old Chase Oaks Courses in Plano/Allen. The facility is a Public course, but the changes make it a great place to play. The practice area is huge and the smaller course make it a great place to introduce younger playes or family to golf, as well as work on your game. The green/cart fees are very reasonable as well.
I played the course on a pretty cold day, but the Sun was out so it made it not so bad. There are a lot of subtle changes to holes that make them much more playable from the old layout. Some holes are tough, but you get a break on others. In all it is a really good layout now and can accomodate all skill levels.
Since I played the course in the Winter time the turf was dormant. However, the conditions were good for dormant bermuda and the greens rolled fairly fast and true. Can't wait to try it again when the weather is warmer and the course is coming out of it's Winter slumber.
Great course for flat bellies.
Not designed for 10+ handicappers. Very nice course for Pros. Definately not for "old men".
Course was in great shape.
Beautiful golf course, with a variety of scenery. It stays busy, and I got started about ah hour past my tee time.
Great golf facility, super friendly staff.
This is a complete golf facility. A 9 hole short course, 3 practice holes, a great range, several practice greens and an outstanding championship 18 hole course. The staff here are extreamly friendly and helpful. Dave in the pro shop was great as well as Bobby the player assistant. This facility is newly renovated and is well worth the play. The greens are outstanding as well as the entire course. This facility is a real treat.
Great Renovations!
Congrats to the Waters Creek staff and the city of Allen. They have really turned this course into a potential gem in the future. The greens are a bit hard because they are still "new" (but they roll just fine), and same with the fairways where the lies can be pretty tight. But the layout is one of the best in the area bar none. Their practice facility is absolutely top notch and the staff was friendly. Looking for Waters Creek to be the top municipal in the DFW area within a year or two once the turf matures!!
Easy on the eyes
Great to see the renovations and , combined with the cooler temperatures this makes for a easily repeatable habit. The course provides great views and quick access to each successive tee box. Quite an asset for the city and the beginning player or avid golfer.
Wonderful courese to play
Beautifully redone earlier this year, fast greens, well maintained, love it..... period
I've pretty much played all the daily fee courses north of downtown Dallas and find this to be one of the best!!!
