Shocking
The pace of play was absolutely horrendous, it asks people to play fast, they clearly attempt to cram people in like sardines. We played a 2 Ball and we were constantly held up by people who were members of the club, you would’ve thought being a member you would know to play at a pace. Staff were friendly enough, not a lot near by and the club house seating is was enough for about 15 people max. The course of was challenging but it felt like it was just more of a well maintained garden than a golf course, especially the front 9. They have attempted to make the front 9 challenging by having obstacles in front of the green, but instead of bunkers there were just random bushes. The back 9 is based around a sort of ravine type thing, but instead of making it a challenging course directly, it’s like they did it indirectly by purchasing an awful piece of land across the road. Wouldn’t recommend personally.
It’s not a Hilton, it’s a cow pasture
After having golfed nearly 100 courses in England, I can safely say this is the worst!
Great layout - poor condition
The practice putting green & practice net was the tell tail sign of the quality of the course to come.
Allowing 2 complete novice players playing with 1 set of clubs and only paying one green fee didn’t go down well with a few of the groups. Although they did let us through after two painfully slow holes.
The layout of the course was very good and potentially could be a stunning course. Not worth the ‘hot deal’ of £24
Enjoyable Avisford.
Enjoyable golf at Avisford Park. Staff always friendly and helpful. The course has suffered a little around the greens due to recent weather conditions but I'm sure will return to its normal.excellent condition. Would play again.
A testing round of golf
I was greeted by a lovely lady who addressed me by my name and had my bag ticket ready , 2 pars in the first four holes , second. 9 is over the road and there are a lot of testing holes there , lots of slopes and hills , I had a really nice time
Two courses in One
The front nine “Parkland” layout is very different from the back nine which meanders through a valley. The front is flat with an occasional dogleg, whilst the back has longer fairways with slopes on most of them so a careful tee shot is essential. A good challenge for all.
Good course
Course in very good condition even after all the heat of the last few months. Friendly staff and members. If any gripe you could get a map of the course to help but there were a few signs of next tee. Would go again
Four ball
Enjoyable day with good club amenity and very friendly staff.
Great course in great condition
We manged to get a tee time here as one of thew only places in the south we could actually play at. Very impressed by the grounds and course conditions. The holes were interesting enough to make you play shots yet not too challenging that you get constantly stuck
Enjpyable.golf @ Avisford Park.
Two very different front and back 9 holes. The first nine are relatively flat , but the back nine are set in a valley and therefore provide a different challenge. Staff friendly and welcoming, good value too!
