Great course
This was my first time playing this course, it was beautiful!
Challenging holes, but very rewarding.
Very nice course. Woodside course.
Hilly in places. Some of the tees were difficult to locate but I put that down to our first time playing there.
30 quid a round . Seems okay price
45 quid a round if you wanted a buggy. That's steep. But spoke to them nd they said if you wanna book one call and they have availability most days.
Pint of cider and lager . 12.50. Pretty steep but acceptable.
Immaculate greens.
A lovely course in very pleasant suroundings
Suitable for all abilities and enjoyable to play. Wide fairways and the greens were a good size and all in good condition.
Said all bunkers were not to be played in, when 90% looked fine.
Apart from this greens were fantastic for this time of year and was well worth the money.
Doesn't hold up after a winter period
I've played this course a few times now and it's a good course with plenty of challenges. I wouldn't advise playing in the winter months or just after because it doesn't hold up well and is extremely muddy and boggy under foot.
This course for me is a summer only course.
Reasonable Condition
Front nine tidy and in a good condition. Back nine a little wetter and more difficult to enjoy.
Very busy and very boring
Played both courses over 2 days on a Sunday saver.
Played the Woods first on a busy Sunday. It looked like every tee off time was a four ball and the round took 5hrs 40mins to complete. Virtually waiting on every shot. Think the fact that if you went into the rough, on every hole it was impossible to find your ball and it seemed that most groups spent most of their time looking for balls. Yes the simple solution is to not go into the rough but we aren't all good golfers. The rough was too long I think it could do with cutting down considerably to speed things up.
The course initially looks impressive but after a short while it becomes apparent that every hole is the same...........Straight ! Most of the holes you play is exactly the same as the previous hole with a straight knock down the fairway with just the bunkers in a different position. You just hope your drive doesn't go into the rough.
On the 2nd day (Monday) we played The Lakes course and thankfully the course was quieter so the round was quicker. Once again and it became a standing joke within our fourball every time we stepped onto the tee that the hole was once again straight !.
In fairness the Lakes course is the better of the 2 courses as it is slightly more interesting but whoever designed this course must have taken all of ten minutes to plan it out.
Honestly the most boring course I have played.
On a better note the stewards were very friendly as were the staff back at the hotel.
A Wet Wet Round
The course is great and the greens held up very well despite constant rain leaving puddles all over the fairways. The course was shut after we went out and the rain came down but we persevered and finished
Beautiful course
Lovely course well kept fairways and greens played the Woodside course would recommend hoping to player the waterside before I head back in the week. Very good value for money
Solid course
The course in general is great, extremely well kept. The starter steward was very friendly and he came out his way to see if we were ok when he saw us crossing onto the back 9. The Greens are a bit slow but very well kept. The only thing that let this place down is the price of a bacon cob. £22 for two bacon cobs and two orange juices. They were rubbish cobs too sadly. The course is great so it’s a bit harsh but definitely needs to be considered in a day out.
Sludgey!
Clearly a lovely course - but back 9 shouldn’t have been open.
I’m guessing it was only open to fulfil Easter bookings. The fairways in the back 9 were waterlogged and therefore not cut.
Unplayable and not enjoyable. Would rather they were honest and just opened the holes that were playable. Not good for the cost.
Imagine it will be brilliant in the summer.
Greens were great even at this time of year
Belton has two great courses, the Lakes and Woodside. We booked to play the Woodside mid morning on 28/12. I’ve played both courses several times over the years and I’ll play here again but it was disappointing to turn up and find out that only the from 9 on the Woodside course was open. Please bear that in mind when booking in winter. People were looping round and playing the front 9 again and there was no starter on the tee box so it was slow and we ended up joining the queue and teeing off 30 mins late so the £28 green fee felt excessive. Having said that the weather wasn’t bad and the course/green was in great condition, it would have just been nice to have been given a heads up that only the front 9 was open and/or that tee times were running late because of the backlog
Lovely setting and coarse (WOODLAND)
coarse was perfect apart from some of the fairways it was very wet, day previously we played greetham valley and it was really dry, but not complaining as coarse, staff and weather was all perfect.
Belton
Found course in good condition especially after the rain in the past few weeks.Pace of play was terrible, nearly 5 hours to complete 18 holes whereas other courses usually taking 3 1/2 hours.Probably would not play again after been twice and pace was slow on both occasions.
Good course - just need a bit more
Good course but it can be quite samey. Would be good to have some different obstacles to play with. I think most crucially the signposting needs to be better. Was finding I was getting lost where the next hole is.
Overpriced & staff need retraining
£40 for golf & £35 for a buggy for a mediocre course. You are paying for the Spa & name. Course is fair, good starter (Chris), bar staff need to be replaced, too much attitude and a lot less hustle, didn’t have a rush in their body and too much attitude.
Always good!
Played both courses numerous times, always enjoyable. Windy conditions provided a challenge but the course was in great condition. Booked the latest tee time and just about got round before it was too dark!
Amazing
Welcomed by a friendly staff member ‘Chris’ who talked to us about the layout of the course and where to go for each hole as there are two 18 hole courses on the park. Overall had a great day playing the woodside course, can’t wait to come back and try the lakeside course!
