My friend and I booked the course and was really looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, the day we picked. The front nine was closed.

We was informed at the pro shop.

However, we played the back nine twice. Really well looked after. Some great holes. We had a good morning but just felt a little low because we hadn't played a proper 18.

The bar area was very clean and tidy. The 0.0 beer was very good as was the ba con rolls.

We will play this course again but the grounds work is due till October.

I will call before booking to check they have finished.

Played here a few times now courtesy of deals on GolfNow and love this course. Exceptionally well maintained with beautiful greens . If you get the chance then play here and you won’t regret it.

Played melton mowbray today as we are on holiday in the area, very friendly people, chatted to a couple of members before teeing off and the chap who set us off gave us some good tips, Will probably have another round here before our holiday is over, course itself is in great condition, beautifully kept, a great mix of challenging holes.

Good course for the conditions I played, ground was completely frozen solid, a good drive or T shot was met with random bounces in a random direction, a lot of dirt lumps that were frozen solid that caused any decent shot to potentially go into an unplayable area.

They had one hole shut, with a winter flag in the middle of the fairway, couldn't play this hole so had to skip it, couldn't putt on the fairway for the solid lumps everywhere.

For the distance to travelled to get there, the price was probably the biggest selling point, putting green had 3 holes very close to each other, about 3 yards between each hole so couldn't really use it for getting your pace in tune. But overally I'd imagine this course would be really nice in the summer, but I think most courses will be. For the SR 133 it doesn't seem that difficult, just had to make the correct club choice, narrow par 4s. Par 3s were all reachable with sand wedge or gap wedge due to the conditions.

Was funny to watch a perfect shot be met with a solid bounce 20 ft back into the air due to the icy conditions but that's the weather not the course

Courses that are x times more expensive have greens no better IMHO.

The greens were in a fairly good condition but some of the tee-off boxes require improvement.

Beautiful course, superbly maintained, welcoming staff. What’s not to like about this place. I have no hesitation in recommending this course it’s a gem.

A first class welcome on arrival, very helpful on registering and as our two ball would have been following a 4 ball and a match play competition we were offered an earlier tee time to avoid being possible held up.

Playing with my wife it was a little quirky to find that the yellow tee was in front of the red tee and the SI was the same for both. Advantage to me.

A mostly flat course in excellent condition considering the drought with some nice features and open ditches. The greens were first class and would certainly return.

In arriving at the 19th we were given a very warm welcome by the local members while taking refreshments outside overlooking the course.

Thoroughly recommended.

The course is in great condition, and the greens are kept to a high standard. We found the members to have great golf etiquette and to be extremely friendly, which is very rare

Weather excellent. Sausage & egg cob and tea good. Sausage could have been better. Accommodating Joel in the pro shop very good for a young man.

Flatish course surface on fairways okay. A dry surface gave the ball a decent runout. Greens in very good condition. Better than the ones at the Belfry. Groundstaff out on course but moved back when players approach. Overall good experience for the £18.00 on a golfnow deal. Could do with a course Marshall going around to stop slow play by ladies who were taking photos on course and holding players up. Otherwise good enough for the price.

The course was in good condition, however the tree-lined holes were uninteresting with a lot of back and forth, also not much movement in greens. There was a little water but not enough. Very friendly staff, however bar not open.

The course was quite wet and we had to play off a mat. The holes were interesting and varied. Some holes had the black and white aim posts (not in the correct place for a big hitter).

Would likely be lovely in spring/summer bit not great value when wet and playing off a mat.
