Excellent facilities.

First time visiting this course. The facilities are excellent. And it nice to have a grass range for a change from range mats. And the buggies have gps built in which is excellent. The course layout is good. Some interesting doglegs and good bunkering to combat its shorter length. The greens are small however and were running slow. Sometimes it felt I couldn’t hit the ball hard enough. But overall a really nice round of golf.

Great course

Really lovely laid out course, the only little downside was the greens were in quite bad shape other than that it was a great day and round

AVOID

Unless you want terrible greens and your van broke man into, then this is the course for you! Not to mention another van getting broken into and stuff being nicked out of it.

Disappointed

Have played here a few times last year and the course was in a nice condition, however yesterday most of the greens were in very poor condition, possibly diseased.

Bunkers have very little sand in them and were full of stones. Tee boxes were also in poor condition and pretty bare.

Disappointed

Played this course about 10 years ago and thought it was a really nice track but over the last ten years you can see the gradual deterioration of the course. Tee boxes were untidy, fairway weren’t to bad but the greens were terrible. Not terrible as in the were bobbly, they had chucks of turf missing. Loads of holes with missing grass so trying to even make a simple putt was a guessing game. Also walking off the 18th green the clubhouse has white paint all over the windows which made it look like a derelict building. In need of some real TLC from start to finish.

Shocker

Absolutely terrible the greens are awful not worth £35 for a round seen this morning at £46 which is a joke .

Van broke in to in car park according to staff was not the only one on that day took everything in 20 minutes.

Only good thing was a warm roll after the round apart from that never going back

Worst greens ever.

Don't waste your money! The greens have large areas where there is no grass at all, bumpy and not one green is in a condition to roll a putt.

No fairway bunkers and some of the greenside bunkers have no sand in them.

I have played this course in its peak condition, it is not worth any green fee and I can't see it being brought back to life anytime soon.

Great parkland course , nice layout , decent challenge

This is a really nice parkland course , tree lined but not excessively and well laid out , the front 9 is challenging length wise with a couple of long par 4s and decent par 5s, the back 9 is shorter and a couple of quirky dog leg holes you need your distances on so local knowledge more key but a good challenge . Course was in good condition for this time of year , there’s clearly development & investment going in as they’re changing bunker layouts on the course and putting in track man to the practice facilities , sure that will draw visitors and new members in , the lack or limited number of bunkers on the fairways as they redesign it just now is my only course call out as could do with a few (which to be fair I think is part of they’re development plans). Staff all friendly and nice clubhouse for after a game , overall well worth a visit and one I’ll definitely go back for a few games on .

Newark Novelty

Played here for the first time and as always excited to play a new course.

Greens were in good condition and fast with all the hot weather but I found the course a bit dull and boring lacking any features or differentiation. Most holes were the same tree lined flat fairways.

Normally we go away taking about the feature holes but not here.

Would of been disappointed if I paid full price but worth the GolfNow price.

Ignorant members

Fairway bunkers GUR, some rough way too deep, fairways nicely cut but not resemble anything like the website photos. Although we were allowed to play through the fourball in front of us, we then had to miserably follow a fourball of two men and 2 women, boy were they slow and wouldn't allow us to play through although we were hot on their heels, totally ignorant, must have been playing for £1000 a hole. Don't think I will return in a hurry.

Good course but what's with the bunkers!

Course was excellent, greens fast but true, but for some reason the bunkers have just been left, looks like no maintenance of them at all, just muddy, weedy pits dotted around the course. Very strange when compared to how the rest of the course is.

Super Course

Club House is large and well set out the staff were friendly and helpful.

Locker Room is spacious and extremely clean and tidy one of the best I've been in.

Course is very well maintain and fairways are the best I've played on this year. Greens were in great condition and ran well. The layout is good and the course flows well. There is plenty of room here so it does encourage you to have a go without fear of losing balls left right and centre. Its not the most difficult course I've played but it was a pleasure to play in a lovely setting. It's an absolute must for the older golfer as its very flat.

In summary I had an excellent day and would recommend this course to all levels of golfers.
