We gave up after 15 holes - which had taken 4 hours!
We had to wait to tee off on every hole, and then wait to take 2nd / 3rd shots as well
Very disappointing - as the course is great
Value for money
A nice course and played before. Excellent value for a tee time of 4pm and managed to get around as a 3 ball in less than 4hrs without having to rush.
Course was in excellent condition with lovely but very tricky greens. Would very much recommend a visit.
Excellent course - varied and testing
What a cracking little course - not long on paper but boasts three par fives, dog leg par fours, excellent greens and well kept fairways. Lots of water too. It really has everything. Two jewels for me 180 yd par three ninth with water in front and the backdrop of the clubhouse and 220yd par 3 18th. Difficult (but shhh, it could be played as a par 4 quite easily...)
Enjoy!
Nice little course
First time playing this course, on my day off on a Thursday. Not a long course buy any stretch, but a nice layout with beautiful greens and tree-lined fairways. I only needed driver on the par 5s and mostly played for position on the par 4s, leaving a wedge in. There are a few doglegs, mostly on the par 5s which requires accurate driving. The course has the feel of a members-only club, you feel quite secluded on the fairways. I'll definitely play here again - it's a nice course to potter around on.
Nice short course but needs some TLC
Enjoyed the overall experience.
The course was quiet when I played and it has some very nice individual holes.
Fairways were very dry and cracked which made taking a clean ball strike harder than expected.
I found the greens had some damage caused by birds (I witnessed birds pecking at the greens during my round). It also seems that most of the greens holes were crowned. Judging by the inner cups this was probably done during the cutting and positioning of the holes rather than golfers feet when retrieving their ball.
This all being said, I would recommend this course and I’m confident the green staff will restore the course conditions to the standard previously attained.
Recovering well from the dry weather
A beautiful day for golf. There are still a few bare patches on the fairways after the very dry mid-summer but this has been quite a widespread issue this year. Greens and tee boxes in good order. This is a fun course to play although I find disconcerting the large tree right in the centre of the drive shot on the 9th. Drives across the water on the 15th and the 18th are for the brave or the canny particularly from the white tees.
Dissapointed
Unfortunately the course does not have irrigation on the fairways and therefore the fairways had very little grass and were bone dry and rock hard. Had we known this, we would not have booked it. The greens were great and there was some green grass in front of the green where it was getting water from the green sprinklers. It is a shame as it is a very pleasant course to play.
Chobham golf course
Staff were really friendly, the course itself was good but was let down by all the dry weather so the fairways were brown and hard too hit off.
But you could tell the course would be lovely in the spring time.
I will definitely go back again in the spring and would recommend anyone to play there.
Really nice course in pretty good condition
Have played here several times mainly in spring, summer and autumn. Very pretty location and not too demanding. Some of the greens are large and mean you have to putt well to score well.
Only negative relates to playing in very dry conditions where certain areas are bare and the greens run well.
Friendly, fun, challenging course
Having caught the golf bug this past 6 months, I have played 25+ rounds this summer and visited over 16 different course. Chobham is hands down the most friendly, Mary I’m the pro shop was helpful, engaging and very welcoming. The course was in great condition and pin position challenging.
I would highly recommend this course and look forward to playing here again in the future.
Excellent course
The course was in pristine condition and great value for money.
Perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Nice course to play. Not overly long, and relatively forgiving, so nice to go out and enjoy your Sunday afternoon! Couple of blind teeshots which weren’t entirely reflected by the line markers, but other than that we had a great time.
Short but challenging course
Really enjoyed playing this course, interesting holes and a good layout overall. Not the longest of courses but you are made to think on each of your shots. The course itself was beautifully maintained, and the club house is nice. Only slight negative was the lack of driving range. Will definitely play here again.
Course in beatuful nick , my wife nly complaint is there was no clear way the holes where laid out . Maybe worth investing in a plan of the hole at each tee to show clear air aim points
