Greens a bit tricky today
Has had a little bit of overnight maintenance by the local hoodrats
Nice course
Challenging course lovely greens, only negative was poor signage and tee box numbers. But enjoyed the course.
No good.
I’ll start with the positives, actually only one. Really well maintained green for this price, couldn’t fault that.
Otherwise can’t really consider this a golf course, heavy rough in the place of “Fairways”, understand this is a common area and passer-by’s are expected, but I’m not expecting people chilling on the benches right across you from the greens… clubhouse is not open until well late on Sundays, fake green side bunkers, overall a huge magnet for balls which could actually be a positive if your after some free golf balls!
Understand there’s a need for cheaper courses but I reckon playing here would not be so good especially for beginners trying to get a hang of the game..
Lovely course
This a lovely 9 hole course with some tricky holes and situated within the common, so fabulous scenery. The greens are in good condition, some of the fairways are tight with unforgiving rough in places. Overall, a lovely course to play.
No bunkers.
A course that I could play over and over and never get bored of. It’s a lovely course with plenty of free tee times.
Very little waiting around which is great too. So you can play at your own pace.
Challenging nine hole course
Course was in great condition and greens were running pretty true. Chorleywood is short but tough, plenty of trees and if you are not straight off the tee you will struggle to find your ball. Irons off tees is probably the best idea. Good little course
Chorleywood
What a weird experience to play there. Considering it’s a common with the course on it, greens weren’t too bad. Some walkers just walked across the greens with their dog. 9 holes for £10 it was an experience. Worth a go if you fancy a quick cheap round.
Pleasant surprise
Having read other reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is set on Chorleywood common, which is a beautiful setting, and yes there were some dog walkers about. But all the walkers I encountered were friendly and respectful of golfers. The condition of the course wasn't perfect, but very few are at this time of the year. Overall, for the price I paid I would definitiely come again.
Awful, basically a dog park
Paying any amount to play here would be too expensive. Dog walkers took priority, greens were awful, flags were missing. No staff in the clubhouse,
Back to nature
Regularly play at Chorleywood. It is a short but challenging course set in the middle of the common. Once you get past sharing the space with dog walkers, all the holes are set in woodland with small but fair greens ( slow ), tough rough with nature all around you.
Don't expect Moor Park standard course conditions but do expect excellent value for money and a real challenge.
Back to nature, good value
Play Chorleywood regularly. Once you get past the fact that it is on the common and as a result there are dog walkers to watch out for: all the holes present a proper challenge. Greens are slow but fair, and the fairways are tight.
This isn't Moor Park: but if you enjoy being out in mother nature and you are looking for good value then worth a try.
Great value for money
The course may be only 9 holes, but it offers a solid challenge, especially with the tight fairways and small greens. You really need to keep it straight to score well, but it’s not overly punishing for casual players either.
The location is super convenient, being just a short walk from Chorleywood station and near the M25, which made getting there a breeze. The course is laid out on the picturesque Chorleywood Common, offering a peaceful and scenic environment to play.
After the round, I enjoyed some time in the clubhouse, which has a comfortable lounge and a great bar for post-game refreshments. Overall, I highly recommend this course, whether you’re local or just passing through. Perfect for a relaxed but challenging day of golf.
Not a great course to play
This course is on Heathland full of dog walkers and families walking everywhere.
Fairways and greens are appalling
People just walking across your fairways as your about to tee off .
Never again
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet expectations. Since 1890 our course has been located on Chorleywood Common and we continue to share this beautiful space with the residents of Chorleywood, including families and dog walkers. We strive to maintain a balance between the community's use of the Common and offering a great golfing experience. Our fairways are consistent with this philosophy while our greens are maintained to industry standards. We of course realise there is always room for improvement – in fact our greens have been hollow tined and dressed this week. We hope you’ll consider giving us another try in the future.
