Improving
In previous Winters for a long while this course has been a quagmire and one to avoid. However, this Winter i have noticed, although there are still a few issues ,things are much improved. Fairways and ground conditions generally are much better. There seems to be a program of not just maintenance but general improvement of the course as well. For instance, there has been a lot of tree work going on ,thinning out etc. and this has smartened up the course and enhanced it visually as well as being beneficial to the existing trees.
The greens on the visit were very good again ,the best we play on our rota ,as they seem to be all year round.
The only thing that lets the course down still after all these years are about half a dozen uneven tee boxes.
Could be better
I love playing this course, but I don’t like seeing it going in the direction it’s heading…. It doesn’t look like much money has been invested into the club for sometime now…. And it’s starting to show in some areas…. The staff are amazing…. And the course could be incredible with a bit more care….
I think it comes down to the owners are only interested in collecting as much money from the courses they can which intern takes away from the experience…
Great Conditions
Hats off to the ground staff here. Despite it being winter and even with the copious amounts of recent rain, the course and greens were in superb condition.
Fantastic greens
Played here once before in the summer, a nice little course that is good for scoring. Wasn't sure what condition the course would be in during mid December having seen some rain that morning. Greens were fantastic, as good as I've seen this time of year anywhere, some tee boxes were a bit soggy but overall the course in very good condition, friendly staff and good food. Good value for money all round and would recommend to any level of golfer

Decent condition, tee boxes could use some work none of them are flat at all. Other than that good value for money

Recommend it highly. I’m a beginner so perfect for me but the fairway and greens were lovely.
Nice Greens
The greens had good surfaces as per usual here & ran at a lovely pace. The fairways are recovering from the dry Summer but are still patchy in places .Some of the teeing areas are still uneven. All in all a pleasant & enjoyable round.
Great wee course, great value
Staff extremely welcoming, course is short but tight, tees and greens in great condition, only downside was the restaurant was closed when we finished our round, although the staff did reccomend a pub just down the road that was open for food.
Overall great value and a good experience.
Beautiful fun course
With plenty of Par 3’s, this course challenges your accuracy off the tee but gives you plenty of chances for that hole-in-one we all hope to achieve. A lovely course in good conditions (greens too). Sometimes the pay of play is great, sometimes not so great. Staff super friendly.
Rained Off
We only got 8 holes into the round when the rain got so heavy we had to stop play and go for a cup of tea, until then we loved the course.
Great short course for practicing
Oakland park is a short course with a number of par 3 holes
It’s short but certainly not simple
It does provide a great opportunity to practice and I’m sure will be better in the autumn when there’s more grass
The greens are well kept but atm fairways are bone dry
It’s a shame there’s no club house
Hidden Gem
Never heard about this course till a friend mentioned it. We played it yesterday and it proved to be a very interesting course which we enjoyed.
We were made to feel very welcome by everyone we met and the Team in the clubhouse really did look after us. Very happy to recommend as we had a great time.
Thanks to everyone at the club and we will be bringing our society to play next year.
Great little track
Played it last Sunday.
Great fun track. Not a driver course, lots of shots to be played and thought about.
Greens were incredible with it in mind it hasn’t rain really for 3 months
Nice course excellent greens
Not the longest golf course but enjoyable to play quite a few doglegs so you have to be precise off tee greens top notch
Amazing Society Golf Day
Played with my society here yesterday. What a fantastic golf course nestled in a beautiful countryside. Short but challenging. Excellent greens! Definitely worth another visit.
