Great course, friendly staff and wonderful greens and bunkers

First time playing at Cirencester , the course layout was fantastic, great practice areas with chipping greens and a practice bunker. . There was a driving range. Everything you possibly need to practice and warmup. Green immaculate even with this dry weather. Fairways dry so a lot of run. Great fun

Great first timer!

Looking for another course for my fourball to play, we decided on booking Cirencester. We had only heard good things about it and decided to put it to the test!

A simple booking was achieved via GolfNow and we all made our way there on Saturday afternoon.

We were greeted in the pro shop by a really friendly chap, who guided us to the driving range , first tee and more importantly showed us the 19th hole!

After a very quick warm up, we embarked on our round and what a great experience it was.

The greens were in tip top shape and the fairways cut short and fast rolling! Especially downhill!

The course is severely cambered in places but we felt it added to the challenge and gave us plenty to think about during our round.

There are a few places where things get tight, like the shaded fairway on 4th/18th, the tee off cross over on the 12th and when on the 13th green/14th tee there’s a lot going on around you.

But, none of the above spoilt our day. We particularly liked the chilled water vending machine after the 11th green and getting a free chilled squash was very welcome on a hot afternoon!

All in all we really enjoyed our round and will be returning in the future for sure.

The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and the facility on a whole was excellent.

Wide open course where Driving off the tee is paramount

Friendly club with good amenities. Course was interesting but not very challenging with minimal penalty areas. Good for driving off the tee and uphill/downhill shots. Few bunkers but OOB on back 9 can be destructive.

Overall worth playing.

Colin

Friendly staff, a nice golf course, unfortunately they punched the greens the day we played so you can imagine no putting! Maybe 30pounds was a little high for the condition.

Friendly welcome

My wife & I loved playing this course, we went out at 3pm & we had no other golfers around us, so we could take our time. The layout is great, generous fairways, which were very dry (but understanderly so) The greens were excellent, soft, fast and true. The bar staff were lovely, they even put a diner aside in the kitchen for us when we finished our round. . We would both re ommend playing here. We stayed on the Campsite vertually next door in our motorhome & walked to the course.

Lovely scenery, good fairways and greens

Had a downpour in the morning, greens and fairways didn't suffer at all and played well. Beautiful scenery. First few holes quite a steep climb but worth it once you get up top!

Golf with an electric trolly

1st /2nd holes a bit of a climb hence the trolly. Views and condition of course good but bare patches in evidence.Long course for the less agile. Etiquette lacking from certain people encountered

Nice setting

Lovely setting, good condition and plenty of challenges. No Tee off times so when busy there is someone behind you from first shot till last. This ment lots of waiting and a feeling of being pushed to move quickly when you could move. May be better to keep no Tee times if they must, but restrict Tee off on first Tee until first green clear. Big welcome sign over clubhouse bar, but key code to get in.......not very welcoming. Understandable in changing room maybe, but to the bar?

Will play again as this is a nice course. However, will try to find a quieter time and won't be hanging around after.

Lovely course

Played the course on 4th October with a friend of mine. We had not played it before, but we will be back. Not the longest by any means but it makes up for length with fast hard greens.
