Not bad

Course was decent to play. Fairways had suffered a bit from the previous dry weather. Disappointing to find the greens had been hollow tinned without being informed prior. Also, the course is not on England Golf - also not mentioned before playing which was disappointing. Otherwise, an enjoyable day and straightforward to book and check in.

Enjoyable

Arrived early and found out from the Pro we may have to double up with another couple because we booked through GolfNow! Wasn’t too pleased with this! First thoughts you are being penalized because you’re not a member. Anyway had a good round, greens excellent, fairways patchy after a dry summer. Enjoyed one of the best caramel latte ever afterwards. A good day.

Windy weather
Walked

Chalk and cheese

Having played this course previously and in similar weather conditions we were all disappointed by how the greens performed. There was no pace as the greens seem to be cut long, and it made them very inconsistent. Hard to read and get line or pace right. The tees were not in great condition either, and every hole had a yellow/red tees from the same place as the proper tee boxes couldn't be used.

Half way house food ordering a bonus at the 9th tee to grab something on the way thru to the 10th tee.

Played this course for the first time and to be honest I won't return, the course looked very tired and scruffy . All tee boxes were bare and broken tees scattered everywhere, no bins on the course to disperse rubbish. Appreciate we've had a vey dry summer , but the lack of any watering was very evident.

On a positive note , a good place for beginners to play but not a course for players with ability.

Good course for the money

I had a fantastic experience at South Cerney Golf Course. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The clubhouse was tidy and well-maintained, creating a pleasant atmosphere to relax before or after a game.

The course itself is great for golfers of all abilities, offering a well-designed layout that challenges beginners while still providing enough interest for more experienced players. Despite the challenging weather conditions with the recent heatwave, the ground staff worked diligently to keep the greens in good condition, which I truly appreciated.

Overall, South Cerney Golf Course provides an enjoyable, friendly environment with a course that caters to everyone. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good round of golf in a welcoming setting.

Basic course perfect for beginners and intermediate players

Quick afternoon game of golf, managed to get around in 121minutes.

The course is well maintained especially with the dry weather

The greens are in good condition although slow

Bunkers only a few need a little more sand

Close is very straight and flat

The staff were great and the club hut was really good

I will return as it’s better to play a quick round than go down the range

Value for money

Great course love playing here!

Fairways are decent and greens run slow but I like that!

Tee boxes could do with some attention but for £25 or so a good knock.

Great value for money

The parking, clubhouse, and range are excellent. The course is well laid out and will only get better as it matures. The tees were not in great condition and were untidy. They would benefit from llitter bins and bins for broken tees. The Greens were generally good especially after a spell of very dry weather. Fairways, light rough, and rough were all well maintained.

Interesting course.

On first play of this course I found it quite an interesting challenge. The only thing that I had an issue with was the speed of the greens. They were very slow so just rolling the ball in was not an option. You had to actually hit the ball to the hole. That aside all the greens were of the same consistency so you just adapt. The fairways are wide and generous but putting the ball into the right position off the tee makes the difference between going for the greens or laying up. Quite a few risk or reward holes which for the big hitters is good fun. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience. So good I played it twice 👍👍👍👍
